July 1995, Goldstone sold for well under £10 million, did any of us forsee 27 years later an Albion manager leaving for a £12million a year job with a club in the same league as us?

Of course not.

And loyalty certainly isn’t common in football these days, but let’s not pretend a significant uplift in money wouldn’t turn anyones head, even in 60s and 70s.

Great Albion servant. Norman and Wally Gould were my favourite players when I started supporting the Albion.
