Off to do a degree in music at Chichester, and although she's living in it means she won't be that far away.

Well done Caroline! And of course Laura and anyone else.

Excellent stuff, many congratulations...superb effort.

can she explain to me the difference between a Major Chord and a minor chord?

I can feel myself filling up here:cry:

Congrats Ms B. From what I remember about a Minor Chord it shouldn't end a tune and contains a flat. There again my humble 'O'level music was taken thirty three years ago.

Congratulations everyone. Remember what a great feeling it was when I opened my envelope many years ago.

Garbage that A levels are getting easier. Its down to better teaching (guess what job I do) and sheer determination.

Years ago, most exams were based on fact , now most of the questions are based on opinion and subjective arguement, so the key is to put a well rounded discussion for your answer, you'll be halfway there. Still, havent taught A level for years, waiting for my classes GCSE results next week with baited breath.

The mediant is a semitone lower in a minor chord.

Ahhh that will help me singing Verdi's requiem in Feb 2006

Of course! I'll introduce you if I can get her to come up on Monday night again.

DtG - If you take a major chord and flatten the 3rd it becomes a minor.

Years ago everything was based on your performance in a 2 or 3 hour exam. Everything in your answer to the question had to be factual rather than putting across an opinion. My eldest lad left school last year with 12 GCSE passes which was achievable because of the percentage of marks gained just through coursework. Well done to the kids they are going to need it !

Well done you two - or three should I now say!! Hope you get some rest today and tomorrow before you get home - the first few months were the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for me, give us a shout if you need any words of encouragement - heaven knows it helped me and I needed it!!
