I thought Hammond was terrific last night & close to being my MOM.

Don't know what game some people watch, but it's certainly not the same one as me.

Both poor again tonight . Caskey last season showed more in the 5 or 6 games last season than these two have in 20 games so far this season.

WHAT!! One of Hammonds best games, worked hard, passed well, ran into space and a quality tackle in the area near the end when the ball was goal bound. Where you at the match?

Had one of his better games for us last night, just seems slow and when he gets the ball always turns his back to the goal instead of looking forward.

They are getting more stick that is warranted due to the fact they don't chip in with goals although Croft hasn't looked that good since his return.

It's the system - three centre mids, none of which are Orlandi, simply doesn't work. Hammond was good last night, at least defensively, making a goal-saving challenge in the second half. Crofts was completely anonymous, but at least one of the three of them usually is when Poyet plays three in the centre. He at least saw this quickly last night and changed things when Kaz had time to make an impact, but did nothing about the three in the middle until he took Crofts off.

Guts and determination, and a bit of quality from one or two, got us a point but we can't keep having to dig out results like this at home. No more three centre-mids at home, please, Gus!

On a positive note, I thought Lopez had his best game for us by a mile. Give him a run in the side, he's beginning to show his quality.

Did you watch the first half? If it takes him 45 minutes to get his touch and to get into the game, he should have a kick-about over at Stanmer Park an hour before kick-off!

Hammond, played ok but he is slow and looks for sideways and backward passes before forward passes.

Crofts, played ok, can't be in the same team as Hammond.

I really don't know why Poyet put that starting team out at home against Millwall, strange..

High up on the South Downs.
Midfield has been 100% better this season with the return of Dean Hammond. Bridcutt now gets the protection he was denied last year. Perhaps those who don't rate him either yearn for Glenn Hoddle or have been watching too much PL on tv.

I actually think Barnes should be in central midfield with Bridcutt.

For me he can do what Hammond and Crofts do and also posses a better goal threat.

Hammond is one of our better deadline day signings. Works his arse off every game. Totally underrated in my opinion. Seems people still hold a grudge against him. But it just doesn't work with 3 holding midfielders. Surprised Crofts stayed on for how long he did.

Crofts was fantastic on saturday when the team was geared to attack and let him make his forward runs. Lacked a bit of quality on the ball, granted, but he got into good areas and made good things happen. In the first half especially. When he's playing alongside both Bridcutt and Hammond his space is stifled and he can't really get into the game in a meaningful way. Playing the three of them doesnt get the best out of him, or the team as a whole so it's Gus' mistake to keep playing that way in my opinion.

I also thought Hammond had a good game last night, but I would rather see Crofts partner Bridcutt than him.

We looked better when Bridcutt went off as I have suggested earlier perhaps it is time to really upset everybody and give Bridcutt a rest and play Hammond as the defensive midfielder and Croft further forward in a more attacking position or role.

This, works very hard and did have a good game but seems very slow off the mark and for some reason takes an age to turn in a circle before laying the ball off.

Correct - the reason for this is because he is so completely one footed - so when go clockwise he has tap it repeatedly with the outside of his right foot. If Gus is such a great coach - surely it would not be beyond him to teach him to kick with his left.
