If you don't want kids knocking the door put a 'NO TRICK OR TREAT' sign on your front door, think you can get them from the police, the kids respect it where I live.
We did give kids sweets for trick or treat a few years back but ran out after about 5 minutes as loads of groups of kids turn up.

Interesting poll but............................

Halloween is not for me but what if I LIKED it? Can't see the option US.

IS this a tabloid (aka Daily Mail type) poll?

I'm sorry the Grumpy Old (English)Men of NSC never got to have fun at Halloween when they were young, but

We've had 'Guising' in Scotland ever since I can remember

and the Halloween/Bonfire Night combo was always my favourite time of year. It's great that English kids are getting to enjoy it these days, even if I find some aspects of the Americanized version (pumpkins, demanding sweets with menaces) a little odd.

Am flying out to New York next week. They go ballistic over halloween

We go on Sunday for 5 nights, looking forward to seeing what all the fuss of Haloween is all about.

Or better still wire the door knocker up to the fuse board - that should sort the little feckers out! :lolol:

Never been a fan of it, myself.

It doesn't help that 31st October is the evening that my father passed away a few years back, so i don't really enjoy having kids come round begging for sweets when i'm trying to drink my memories away.

..Same here, I had a brief chortle, nearly developed into a guffaw.

..May I be the first to observe that it is "Halloween", not "Haloween".

It's Hallowe'en though.
