I think it’s been taught as Haitch in some schools for a while now?

Having taught in schools for over 30 years, it has never been policy...anywhere...to teach it as 'haitch'. If it is taught that way, it is because that is how an individual teacher says it.

I don't say it like that.

But each to their own...
