Were the police telling him to move on? By not facing them they may see him as obstructing a police officer whilst he is carrying out his duties. Was he disabled? He looked to be walking awkwardly before the push from the policeman. Interesting to see the outcome of the investigation.

Thats pretty damning to say the least! I wouldn't want to be the plod who shoved him over. People get shoved all the time during public order situations but the guy had his hands in his pockets ffs and was offering nothing more than a slow walk away. I find it hard to see how the officer will be able to justify that use of force. :nono:

Looked a bit pissed or indeed a walking related disability,if it turns out the guy was infact disabled i think a few heads will roll,im sure some expert find the loophole tosspot lawyer will get the person (s) responsible off the hook, whatever the circumstances its pretty clear what killed him.

Hang on...it's clear that the bloke was shoved and fell over. No question.

It is not clear what killed him (other than the already reported news that he suffered a heart attack). I doubt they'll ever be able to prove a causal link between him being pushed over and him suffering a heart attack, though I imagine the officer in question will still have to answer a few questions.

if you watch to the end of the video it shows the officer that pushed him striking the backs of his legs with his baton before as well.

quite right edna, that it's not showing a link between the pushing and his subsequent death (that occured very soon after), but i wouldn't want to be that policeman right now!

that along with the false statments of the crowd impeding the police when the guy collapsed, saying they tried to help him but were bottled back, which has now shown to be false.

i'm certainly no police hater or anti-police, etc, but it doesn't look too good for them on this one....

Answer a few questions? If I were the OFFICERS (note the plural) concerned I'd start getting a good lawyer. Whether or not there was a causal link, their behaviour to a man who offered no threat is appalling. Not fit to be police officers.

Was the bloke deaf?

Can clearly hear the coppers shouting at him to get moving. Very sad that he died but he was clearly trying to be obstuctive.

Maybe he was and maybe he wasn't . He may have been deaf. He may have been a bit simple. He may have been a bit drunk therefore until we have the answers he was not "clearly" being obstructive. What is clear is a disproportionate attack from behind on a bloke with his hands in his pockets from a police officer. I'd say it was also provocative.

What a fuckin disgrace. Early part of the day, coppers obviously pysched up for a bit of agro - absolute wankers, I hope they jail they **** for life. Probably a veteran of the miners strike, so thinks this sort of things ok.

He is going to be more obstructive by being put on the floor. Very difficult to say if he is being obstructive on purpose. As above, what if he was a bit simple and did not understand the alleged warning? There was absolutely no reason to use such excessive force. There are at least 10 officers there and one could quite easily have taken him to one side and given him a warning.

As it happens, some nutter thought it was a good idea to shove him over. I am generally very supportive of the police in this sort of situation, but the perpetrator is clearly a loose canon and I wouldn't want him patrolling the streets of London with the feeling that he can do what he wants without due care.

Well I hope he wasn't drunk he was on his way home from work. Guessing he wasn't deaf but he's obviously a bit simple. Every day I walk down Cheapside to Bank and down King William Street on my way back to London Bridge, this day was no different. I managed to get as far as No 1 Cheapside before the police stopped me. Being nosey and given that I'd had the telly on all day in the office watching the crusties play up I hung about to see what I could see, which wasn't allot. After a couple of minutes the line of police drew their batons and started to advance up the road trying to get people to disperse. As I didn't fancy having a baton wrapped round the back of my legs I did as they said and moved on. In the video you can clearly hear the coppers telling to get moving, they have dogs and big sticks the bloke is either a) a loony or b) trying to be obstructive.

Did he deserve to die, no of course not, but he did deserve the treatment he got. If he'd been bit on the arse by one of the dogs and had a jammer would you have been calling for the dog to be put down??
