What was the tannoy announcement?

That homophobic chanting was unacceptable - it did stop the rather boring "we can see you holding hands", "does your boyfriend know your here" chants from the Woking chavs behind the goal!

The official away attendance was just 785 last night - not great really.

If they could finish, Albion would have been humiliated in that second half.

Err...to be fair, if WE could finish it would've been in double figures, we would've absolutely battered them. We had SIXTEEN shots off target.

An unusual night for me, as I'm usually in the home end (not that I'm a regular at Woking I should add). I'd say that from previous experience Woking do have a vocal contingent in the covered terrace, so I wasn't surprised by the atmosphere they generated.

As for the game, I think I'd have enjoyed it more if I was a neutral. Credit Woking though, they certainly helped to make us look rather ordinary.

Well, seeing as we're three and a half leagues above them, I wouldn't get too excited about that. A lot of those shots were nearer the corner flag.

Who said anything about getting excited? There was no chance of us being "humiliated" last night. My point was you didn't take into account the fact we had far more shots than them, when talking about "being able to finish".

The Woking fans that came to Lewes last season were utter dicks but quite funny at the same time. One of them fell asleep leaning against the barrier whilst holding his pint spilling most of it only to wake up have a mouthful of beer and then repeat until he had nothing left in his pint. When this occurred he'd trot of to the bar and buy a new pint. We watched him get through about 3 pints in the first half.

They were a bit non league with some of their chants, but they are non league! Gayest chant of the night award goes to us though "hit the bar, hit the bar" during their penalties was cringe worthy!

The homophobic announcement was brilliant, even the coppers in front of us were pissing themselves.

Bet the divvies that ran on to the pitch now regret it. One of them looked like he was going to cry as he was held by the coppers next to us.

Their stadium announcer is an openly gay man who wouldn't have been impressed with what he was hearing-the Woking fans embarrassed themselves last night. If they'd been chanting something about 'Pakis' in a similar way it would lead to their club being in deep shit.

When it was 2-1 there was every chance of us being humiliated. In fact, being taken to penalties was somewhat humiliating-considering Woking are 3 1/2 divisions below us.

Yep. "Humiliated" would be 3 or 4 nil. That was never going to happen.

I disagree. I think losing by a couple of goals to Woking last night would have classed as a humiliation in many neutrals' books, even if not yours. And that could very easily have happened. As many other have said, it had the smell of an upset last night, they were bang on it, we were right off it. Over 210 minutes not only had we not put away a mid-table Conference South club, we were very close to a major embarrassment.

I guess my point is...why focus on them not being able to finish rather than us? Them not being able to finish is expected, as they are 3 leagues below us. We should've buried 3 or 4 with the players we have.

Well, one thing is for sure, if we play anything like that at Southampton we're going to get slaughtered. Even leaving the attack aside, the defence was very poor, and made their attack look like world-beaters. Let's hope it's out of the system now, and we're back at it with a full team and the right attitude on Saturday.

some of those woking fans behind the goal had clearly been watching too much football factory. really thought elphick was going to twat the bloke who tried to run into him when they scored. particularly enjoyed one chap who was giving it large during "1-0 and you f***ed it up", only for us to score seconds later

some absolute pond life behind that goal

I think us beating you at all would go down as pretty humiliating, but that didn't happen. Just imagine opening the papers this morning and seeing Woking 2 Brighton 1, wouldn't that make you feel really embarrassed? I mean we are one of the most well known non-league teams for sure, but still not many people have heard of us. I'm amazed we scored 2 goals tonight as we really haven't had many goals in us this season. The really annoying thing is in the last 3 league games we have had 4 penalties, missing 1 (scoring the rebound) and scoring the other 3 and 3 different players took those (including Elvis and Faulconbridge with 2 good pens) so I was thinking we might have a chance at pens. Pressure got to them I guess

...but we won't, no chance. The players will be up for Southampton.

Agreed.

But do you not think we almost always play better against better teams? Look at our Charlton and Peterborough performances, compared to Northampton, Woking, Tranmere and Hartlepool.

Just got to hope for a boring, uneventful 2-0 win against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Brighton have been put out of various cup competitions by lower league opposition on such a frequent basis over the years that it no longer comes as a shock tbh.

ONE thing that is interesting...

Am I right in thinking Adam El Abd played in ALL 6 of our consecutive clean sheets?

Then we concede FIVE in 2 games. FOUR of which were scored without Adam on the pitch.

Just how important is he to our defence?
