‘Hi, would you like some more money and a longer contract Roberto?’

‘No thank you, I’m not convinced of your ambition or the plan Tony’

‘…..’
Fair enough.

Although it is 'let's talk about it' rather than 'no'.

I'm quite certain he has been already offered a job somewhere else. Otherwise he wouldn't be so 'assertive'. I think the tone definitely changed after that dental surgery trip. Obviously, just speculation and might be complete coincidence, but like said before: Gut feeling.

If you can’t see the Poyet similarities yet, keep your head buried in that sand, don’t diss those that see what’s probably coming, just because you can’t

Poyet started using press conferences to tout himself, De Zerbi is now doing exactly the same but just a tad more subtly. No bedwetting here, just disappointment and it’s now pissing me off.

He’d be much better off just saying discussions with TB and PB are ongoing and not laying out his conditions in press conferences, if he’s serious about staying here.

Do other clubs have managers as outspoken about “projects”?
What examples have you got of him being outspoken and touting himself?

If you have them, have you translated them into Italian and picked out any nuances?

I see it as the ball being in Robertos court. We are never ever going to match his ambition to sign his preferred players that he will use for five minutes before binning them and then moaning he never got a midfielder. We cant keep loaning out talented midfielders like Leonard and Alzate while signing first team players Roberto demand but wont use. He will have to grow up a bit or leave
:lolol:

Leonard has been playing for Northampton, currently 11th in League One.

Alzate’s had plenty of chances and hasn’t taken them.

I dont watch the Belgian league other than odd Union game but when we took Caicedo back from loan from Beershot they finished the season with 16 points not sure they were much better than Northampton but then again dont know the level of Belgium really. Alzate fair enough he did get many chances

Leonard is a year older than Caicedo and British. It’s like comparing apples and Durians.

I'm relaxed about whether RDZ stays or goes - the only definite winner will be Bloom regardless - but just once it would be nice for RDZ to a) not bang on about injuries and whinging that he doesn't have enough players and b) tell everyone how happy he is working for such a special club where he is supported by the board and allowed a lot of freedom. It's coming over more and more that we should be grateful to have him. Frankly he should be grateful that he came to and is working for such a fantastic club.

I dont follow? Why would that be a bad thing just more experience and not needing to adapt to England?
Caicedo was much younger when he was loaned out and needed European experience. It’s ludicrous to compare him and Leonard on any level.

Whilst have not looked at all the thread have listened to press conference. Because of interest from huge clubs mentioned daily in the media he is now always questioned about it. I thought with not perfect english he deals with it well and honestly. He knew how Bloom works when he came but because of his imput the club is at the moment on a different level playing and income wise. £200 plus in transfer income plus would think with league placement and Europe income could be up £50m. He knows Bloom will give him and staff good new contracts but knowing him and Bloom are on similar wavelengths will be even more important. He will not want to go backwards and with our additional income since he has been here can understand if he now thinks squad as it is will struggle to repeat with present squad plus usual untried youngsters and wants assurance he can get in some more established players.
Thought the sad comment was that he feels Baleba will be very good and club will then be able to sell him. He may also want assurance from Bloom that he can hang on to Mitoma Pedro etc. Dont forget Bloom has said he wants to become a top 10 club and he may need to convince DeZerbi that his abitions now match his.

Why bring up Leonard when Moran does look like he could step up next season and probably will.
Yes another good one we could have used Im not saying they are the finished products or anything but better than no one. Or Milner lol
