I get the feeling that Gus will get what he wants - this guy is the future, lead us out at Falmer my Uruguayan friend....

If he and the board are really serious about strenthening and having them in place early, then contact with clubs and players must surely have been made.

Although players cant technically sign until Jan 1st, that doesn't mean we cant start negotiations.

Might even see a new face by Jan 9th game?

I hope this works out. The reason that so little tends to get done in the early part of January is because players are advised to hold out for a better offer.

I really hope Poyet can pull this off, but I cannot help but think there is an element of naïvity in his ambitions to get players signing in the first week of the transfer window.

great optimism mate, good on yer, and I'm sure he will lead the players out at Falmer and amongst those players a couple of experienced guys he will pick up very soon.

One can only assume that contact has been made with clubs and players and agreement has been reached to a certain level and it is matter of just sealing the deal.

On another thread it was suggested that Dean Cox has agreed terms with another club so why should anybody we wish to sign, be any different.

Anyone would think Poyet hasn't already worked at Leeds, Spurs and Swindon?!

I'm sure he knows a lot more about how transfers work than any of us, so accusing him of being naive is slightly bizarre. Over confident? Perhaps.

I actually agree with your criticism of me!

I think Poyet has something going on in the background, but can't quite bring myself to believe it. I really he can pull it off, because so far I have been impressed with is approach to running the club.

Can't really disagree with this post.
