Gus to Chelsea

The fact he's had to rule himself out of the job and all the sports websites are quoting him are testament to the fact he's very likely to have been on the shortlist, so this IS anything but bollocks.

There are any other number of ex-Chelsea players with management experience who could have been touted for the job, but you don't see the likes of Zola, Vialli, Gullit or Steve Clarke ruling themselves out of the job on SkySports.

That could simply be because the others (especially those who are currently out of work) wouldn't mind the job and therefore wouldn't want to rule themselves out, however slim their chances of actually getting it are.

Do you really think that likely? What if he turned out to be rubbish and Oatway was really the tactical genius?
Poyet as we all know would love to manage a top 4 club in the prem, how often would such an opportunity arise???

Mind you poyet hasn't completed a full season as manager yet so unlikely anyway and he's clearly stated that:thumbsup:

Maybe chelsea have offered the AM's job on the basis he will get the managers job?

Thats very tempting???

As I said earlier, Chelsea would not appoint a manager who is not one of the top 5 or 6 in the world, and I fear Gus is not quite there just yet.

Gus leaving will happen sooner or later, I'm just hoping it is the latter and that he leads us into the Amex next year as champions of league one. Maybe now some of the utter morons who have criticised his style of play will shut up and completely back the team come what may on saturday

Not discounting anything as there was never a truer phrase than "you never know in football................" but I would expect to see some sort of a hint coming from the other end of this "deal" and the silence from Chelsea and from Chelsea fans is deafening.

Nothing on their forums. No rumours. Just a complete void where any discussion (of what to us is a hot topic) should be.

Of course I take no notice of Gus' denials of any interest. It's a case of, whatever the truth "he would say that wouldn't he."

So maybe it's true and maybe it's not. If TB is truly engaged in negotiations today then maybe they will sign our manager tomorrow and maybe we will sign one of their reserves**. Who knows. Certainly (it seems) no-one at the Chelsea end seems to have even the slightest inkling of it, unless I have completely missed something.

**reserve midfielder Jacob Mellis is a rumoured target

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Just had the latest news regarding the issue from my contact approx 10 mins ago. I'll leave you to read the update in the Argus tomorrow.

Gee thanks for reading the future. Even if you're right, for what possible reason would people want to know this in advance? It doesn't lessen the shock. It gives us all a night of virtual sleeplessness wondering what the Argoose will have poorly written come morningtime.
I don't understand the good of you making this statement whether true or false. Or of your sources spreading it yourwaywards in order for you to do so. It tastes unsavoury, this dirty business.

Mental how you cant write a coherent sentence mate but still manage to call me a prick in a straight forward kind of way (read your post above). If you don't like my posts then may I suggest you have the choice "not to read them".

I hate Chelsea(Shopping-shirters) and everything they represent. They can shit off. Are most of the chelsea fans the same losers that were Ipswich fans in the 70's when i was growing up. If he goes there in next few days i may consider ending it all. I thought Poyet was on sky today denying it all anyway

Would you turn down the chance to leapfrog two divisions and land a top job at the second richest club in the country? Doubt many would.

On the other hand, if Poyet's CV shows he got the Albion promoted in his first season as a manager it would stand him in very good stead to progress surely but steadily up the managerial ladder while still learning his trade. But Micky Adams #1 didn't hang around when a better offer came along. Wouldn't expect Poyet, or indeed any fiercely ambitious manager, to do any differently.

Dunno, could go either way

They are usually fat cropped haired builders called Micky with armfuls of badly scribed tattoos and gap toothed smoking hag wives called Stacey, occasionally though you may encounter a nouveau Chelsea fan called Damien who works somewhere in the home counties probably in IT or Insurance sales and drives a 9 year old Audi A4 with extra tinted windows. Damien owns a tweed cap and also prefers a Ralph Lauren Merino scarf on matchdays - he is universally accepted by all that know him as a complete twat.
