Gus said afterwards he kept Ulloa on, as we kept on putting the crosses in.

I'm surprised NSC hasn't melted, it certainly would have done if CMS had missed all the half chances Ullao did, last night.

He even had a 'throw himself to the floor 3 yards out' miss, sound familiar?

Yes he's new but scoring is scoring.
No he's not 'match fit' that means nothing when swinging your foot at a ball.
Yes our crossing was pretty sh*te - but it's up to Ullao to make them count, it's certainly up to CMS.

He's not scoring any goals any time soon**

feel a bit sorry for Ulloa. Has had poor service so far. He certainly tries hard. He will be a top player for us. Massive improvement on macca

Unfortunately, that is not hard. I really do not think he will be the answer to our lack of fire power this season. That said, he looks like "one for the future".

At the moment, Barnes is one of the few players who seems to be able to anticipate where a cross might go and get himself on the end of it.

From the videos I've seen of him, Ulloa looks like that's a big part of his game too. Give him time, he'll come good!

yet CMS was given quality service time after time and never ran himself into the ground ??

ulloa certainly holds the ball up a lot better then macca but that wasnt what we bought him for but to suggest hes a massive improvment after 3 games is a bit much

You should have asked why he replaced a striker, with a midfielder when we was 1-0 down and he has his top scorer sitting on the bench. And why he kept Buckley on for 75 mins when he clearly wasn't interested last night. Lualua nearly won us the game and has been much more of a threat than Buckley of late.

I saw strikers over hove park on sunday morning who would be an improvement on CMS........ and that was just the under 10s. Ulloa has not been amazing but has shown more ability in 4games that macca has in 18 months

Ulloa did miss a couple of chances close in from crosses (a la CMS) but if that back heel had gone in I would needed new pants!

I think it will take Len a few more games to fully adapt to "English defending", but I like what I've seen so far.
His hold-up play is good, he's great in the air, helps out defending, and his passing is terrific especially when he's laying off balls to players going forward.

Once he's learnt to handle defenders better despite having lumps kicked out of him, he'll do for me.

Very hard for him to win many headers and ariel battles with Dann and Hanley, two very strong tall centre backs. Hanley looks a beast

Ulloa needs game time so he can learn what the team is like on the pitch. Who is going to beat a man and put an early cross in, who is going to look to lay it back , who likes to cut inside and work it in to feet.
These things become instinctive after time. Ulloa will learn the moves to make the space.
Barnes will help, I believe he is someone the whole team likes playing with. He absorbs pressure, from fans and opponents.

this.
Gus said he has bought ulloa to lay with CMS. At Sheffield they played the second half, they played most of the game against Hull, so is 1.5 games (max) enough to form a partnership? I don't think so..
Goal down going for play-offs, presumably and he puts a midfielder on for a striker!
So we had 5 in midfield and nobody on the right, how's that work? Hammond and Orlandi just pushed inside.

We don't know what team he will put out each week and that is not good. We should have a settled team with only one or two changes depending on suspensions/injuries/opposition/home/away.
