I truly love this man.

I love the results we're getting, four points and two clean sheets from these two away games is fantastic.

I love the players he's brought to the club and the way we're playing - quality attacking football and tight defending at the same time.

Most of all, I love the feel good factor he has brought back to the club that had been missing for a long time.

I also love Tony Bloom for having the courage to appoint him in the first place.

I'm feeling the love tonight!

I'm feeling rather happy tonight. We're in for a decent season I can feel it, two tricky games in a space 3 days, and to get four points from them is very positive, ok we're second in the table but PLEASE lets not get carried away. Because the season doesn't end on Saturday, and there is still a long way to go.

A very clever manager and we reaping the rewards for taking a chance on him, Bloom has also done a great job in selling him the long term outlook and i think we in for some good times.
Great job seagulls, good to see keeping clean sheets now after a couple of silly give aways early season, think if Anker had done that shocker vs Rochdale we be 2 points clear.
Great job lads and didnt the bench look strong tonight and that doesnt even involve Greer or Kishishev, looking very promising.
Still think we need another striker and hopefully pay out for one in Jan but happy to wait for the right one to come along

Here's something I've been worrying about. Let's assume that we are still somewhere near the top come late October/early November. It is usually around that time that the Premiership starts jettisoning managers and starts trawling the league for new blood. It is all but certain that Gus will be linked with just about every vacancy going.

I'm not saying that Gus would go, as I really do think he'd like to get at least a promotion under his belt to really show his credentials. However, I hope that a lot of inevitable speculation doesn't destablilise the team.

yes i sort of understand this but i dont think many premiership clubs would go for a div 1 manager. i think championship clubs would but i dont think gus would be tempted.

No reason to worry, Poyet knows that we the club for him at least for this season and id expect another 2 after that, then depending where we are and how many turn upto Falmer he may then look either to commit even longer or goto someone like Tottenham etc.
But i dont think any chance of Poyet leaving unless Chelsea or Tottenham come knocking, i dont think any championship team would interest him at mo.
We safe i believe to stay on the gus bus for a fair while yet

Normally I'd agree with you but Gus has played in the Premiership, is known in all the right places and even turns up on Sky as a pundit. His face fits already. So many Premiership appointments are made on the basis of the old boys network and Gus is effectively a fully paid up member.

I still don't think he'll go but I do think that clubs will come looking for him.

Am I right in thinking we were on 14 points when Poyet took over last year? And from about 16 games?

We now have the same number of points from less than half the games, with some tricky fixtures in there too. I know it's early in the season but it's a solid start and very encouraging.

I can't see him going to a championship side, if a team in that league are doing well then the manager of that team is staying, why would Poyet want to leave us for a relegation battle with whoever. I think only a decent premiership side would get him and being very early career wise, I don't think they will be sniffing quite yet
