What about that one heard around many grounds, often played on a Mexican trumpet, especially in southern europe, [and I'm spelling 'Ole' phonetically] that goes:

Olaaaay, olay olay olay. Olaaaay - olaaaay

Olaaaay, olay olay olay. Olaaaay - olaaaay

Just supplant the 'Ole' with 'Poyet'. Simple.

Now that Lofty has moved on (sob sob). How about:

Gus can build a bridge
Between your heart and mine
Gus can build a bridge
Don't you think it's time?
Don't you think it's time?

Much to the annoyance of my family and neighbours and being rather drunk at the time I was singing something similar to that after we beat Southampton.

Gustavo Poyyyyet

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Up Where We Belong (not the the bottom of the third division) by Joe Cocker, Jennifer Warnes and Barrel of Fun

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know, is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep my pray alive

The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb steps every day

Gus lift us up where we belong
Watch the Seagulls fly, o'er a mountain high
Gus lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Some hang on to "used-to-be"
Live their lives locking behind
All we have is here and now
All our lives, out there to find

The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb steps every day

Gus lift us up where we belong
Watch the Seagulls fly, o'er a mountain high
Gus lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Time goes by
No time to cry
Life's you and I, alive, baby

Gus lift us up where we belong
Watch the Seagulls fly, o'er a mountain high
Gus lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Gus lift us up where we belong
Watch the Seagulls fly, o'er a mountain high
Gus lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Not to be taken too seriously...

Nothing you could say could tear me away from my Gus (my Gus)
Nothing you could do, 'cause I'm stuck like glue to my Gus (my Gus)
I'm sticking to my Gus like a stamp to a letter
Like birds of a feather, we stick together
I'm tellin' you from the start
I can't be torn apart from my Gus..

I really wasn't getting all the fuss about this one, until I realised I was saying Gus Poy-ET, which sounded shit, BUT, if you say (correctly), Gus Poy-EY, it's brilliant. Well done.

something to the tune of the "go compare" advert. 'Gus Poyeeet Gus Poyeeet'. Some help with lyrics would help though!

What about when he takes us to Championship Glory and leads us out on to the pitch at Falmer only to be picked up weeks later by some Premiership outfit -

So saaaaaaaad, about Gus ['Orrible 'Oo version, of course]

Hey Mr. Smuggles...my attempt...

Gus Poyeeet, Gus Poyeeet,
Forget the rest; we’ve got the best with Gus Poyeeet,
With Forster scoring
And Seagulls soaring,
Then you’ll thank your stars that you went with Gus Poyeeet

I think I did it again.I made you believe
We're more than just friends.
Oh, POYET;
It might seem like a crush,
But it doesn't mean
That I'm serious.
'Cause to lose all my senses...
That is just so typically me.
Oh, POYET; POYET.

Oops!
... I did it again.
I played with your heart.
Got lost in the game.
Oh, POYET; POYET.
Oops!
... You think I'm in love.
That I'm sent from above...
I'm not that innocent.
