What to say? They were better than us. Gus did what was required to get us into a position whereby we could fight for promotion. He did his job.

Tonight, Palace were the better team. They controlled our game and took their chances. It wasn't our night.

People need to listen to the whole thing. He's clearly upset and saying he wants to 'higher the roof' ie raise the quality and standards if I've got that right. Why do people think that he will be off.surely Zola's stock is higher than his at present. Its all very disappointing but we need to build a promotion quality team for next season. We've had that for the last 3 months but we need to have a better squad for the whole year. The one thing that we should remember is that continuity is important.... Just look at the retiring Ferguson.
Anyone who questions today needs to look back to the 77-78 season when we just lost out on promotion, but we came back stronger the next season stronger and got portion. It's painful, but we need to look to the future.

Don't blame him at all. Firefighting in certain positions, eg Calderon (a great bloke and good against poor widemen) did the best he could, but outclassed so that drew in a stack of support, leaving gaps elsewhere. Not for the first time.

Will the club (and the fans, without whinging), finance the permenant acquisition of 2 class and FIT fullbacks?

I'm sure there are but the problem is that many of them will be total pants. I'm sure Mark Hughes would be pimping himself out in the blink of an eye and so on and son on. The trick lies in Tony identifying the right guy, the one who will keep us playing with a similar style. We're so close to being the real deal but need to be better at putting away chances are adapting when things turn against us.

He's been putting in little snipes all season. Turning round looking up at the directors' box with his hands outstretched, putting his hat in the ring at Reading and in tonight's interview he basically said if he doesn't get what he wants from the board, he will be off. He's more interested in himself than the club and Bloom knows it. I can't see him staying.
That said, I thought his team lacked bottle tonight - it was a night for the El Abds of this world.
