Gus one big mistake in three years of tender

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Look - you all whinged like stink about Murray when he was here - lazy, not interested, wanting to leave as soon as he got here etc etc.

He's not the messiah !!!!!!

We offered what he was worth. He went elsewhere. Don't see how this is Gus's mistake. Move on people.

Hoskins seems to have his head in the right place now and Gus clearly wants to give him a chance, so let's get behind him. Once he knocks a few in, the lucky heather seller will be quickly forgotten.

Not selling McSmudger to Reading in January was a massive mistake,by then most of us could already see that he does not have the talent to play the passing game, the biggest problem Gus has is admitting his mistakes he just can`t do it.

Cant believe how many threads we have had on the subject and it's becoming an obsession for some people.

I'm so glad NSC wasnt around when we sold Dean Saunders or Garry Nelson for peanuts in the 80s & 90s!

Yeah cms has been rubbish especially LAST weekend where he scored 2 goals. Jesus

This 100 % . If every player in our squad put the same work rate in and was as consistent as CMS every game , we would be top.

Caveman can't we ban idiots that have no idea about football ? I know it's a game of opinions but surely we can demand some intelligence

One of the most un educated comments I've read on here !! CMS is top goal scorer and works harder than any other player for the squad , his head never drops and he plays 100% from the first to the last whistle .

His only mistake lol...So backing Suarez publicly, flying in the face of public opinion and royally pissing a lot of people in football off was ok? That sort of thing has a lot longer lasting effects, than not wanting Murray to stay.

We could sign Mo Farah as our midfield workhorse?

He's no good at football but he would run around a lot. Ask him to recruit a load of his mates and then by your reckoning we could be top.

Today we celebrate Gus Poyet's three years with the Albion. During his three years of tenure he has obviously transformed the clubs fortunes & together the club is a very different animal to the one he join in November 2009.

I would say that he can on the whole only be congratulate for the success he's brought us, & be of so grateful for the new players he's managed to bring to the club. Who would have said back in October 2009 that would have the likes of Wayne Bridge, Vicente, Bruno, Kuszack, to name but a few, that these names would be playing for little old BHAFC by November 2012. NO ONE of course.

But his only one major mistake was not keeping Glen Murray with the club. Word has it we offer him £7,500 a week back in the summer of 2011, but our great enemy offer him £12,000 a week. Whether this was the case or not one think has been proved for no transfer money as Murray was out of contract Palace got him ridicurlously cheap & he has proved to be a massive lose. I'm sure now & again Gus must look back & think how many more goals would CMS have scored last season & this had Murray been holding the ball up for him in attack. Not to mention the amount of goals Murray would have scored himself. One thing Murray has always been is a goalscorer, he's done it in every League he's played in.

One thing is for certain, we wouldn't be still looking for that out & out goalscorer now had we kept him.
So many thanks Gus you are great & I'm sure you will continue to be so, but like all of us your not perfect. Lets hope by the end of the season we don't live to regret it & we see our great enemy take all the glory ???.

Don't worry - if Murray really still wants to play for Brighton, as alleged by some, he can run down his contract and come back in 19 months on a FREE.

If we are in the Premier League by then though, we may want and be able to afford better.

It's not replacing Murray which i find more frustrating then actually losing him. In fact it's the lack of strikers at the club which Gus has failed to rectify is our Achilles heel.

Replace him with who? There are very few strikers as complete as him around.

This. I for one always got the impression Murray never really enjoyed his time with us and apart from one season wasn't exactly prolific.

That's a myth. He scored at a ratio of 1 in 2 in all 3 seasons. He was quality throughout his time with us.
