Being told a snippet from someone with an agenda in April is not the same as 'knowing all the facts'. It is the same, however, as being told one side of the story.

I am not talking about one specific poster, and have no idea what that snippet of info was, or what agenda was in place.

Is it not your opinion? No one is 100% trustworthy but I would say Bloom has the club interests at heart more than Gus does, even if it's just to get his money back(which I don't think it is)
If Gus comes out on the radio and says he told the players he was going off to Fulham then I might believe the rest what he says, apart from that it will be all spin advised by his lawyer.

He has made a lot of money playing poker I reckon he could be quite a good liar. He probably does have the clubs best interests in mind, he could off course be more concerned with his money, we don't really know.

As for the comment about trusting bloom - I'm sure we all do. We have no reason not to and loads of reasons why we should.

You can trust someone to do what they believe is the right thing for the club. But that doesn't mean that you necessarily share their opinion about whether it's right or not.

I agree entirely that it's foolish to rush to adjudicate Gus to be guilty, and to slag him off accordingly.

However. All of the EVIDENCE of the last few months, to me strongly suggests that the club was in the right, had a very strong position, and that whatever Gus did, he was caught bang to rights.

I would love to know the full picture, but until anything comes up which makes me think otherwise I'm firmly in Team Board.

Add to this the fact that I am more than a little enamoured with our new Head Coach, I've got very little interest in what GP has to say for himself. Of course if he happens to tell all I'll be interested, but I suspect that he will release a carefully considered version of the truth, if anything at all.

That's certainly true. I would say that if the relationship between manager and board had broken down to that degree, unquestionably it had to be right for the club that they get a new manager, whatever else had happened. Whether the way of getting there was sacking for gross misconduct is the question, and most of us are still guessing.

I also think Gus should stop bleating about it on TV and radio and get on with trying to manage again. He was pretty good at it, when he wasn't being a ****. He is an average TV pundit at best.

I too am very keen on Oscar. I wish him all the best and tolerance he needs.

But I still have a nagging doubt that we may end up losing a big chunk of money that will be spent on players to pay off, cover legal costs etc for a situation that could have been avoided

Surely EVIDENCE (your capitals, not mine) is what's in short supply here.

It’s certainly not complete.

But every single bit of evidence that IS available suggests very strongly that; Gus did something malicious/idiotic/both, got caught and was dealt with by the club in a reasonable way that followed due process.

The point is that I understand people saying "You can't judge Gus until you know all the facts", and I agree to an extent; but when all the available information points to his guilt then it's reasonable to assume he's guilty.

I haven't heard anything from Gus that makes me think he was hard done by.

What evidence do we have so far against Gus?, obviously ignoring all rumours, theories etc

I don't remember seeing anything that I would count as evidence in my book, from either Gus or the club. It's all been internal.

What evidence - beyond unsubstantiated rumour - either challenged or unchallenged, has been placed in the public domain to make you draw that conclusion?

Have you seen the charge sheet? Do you know how it was dealt with? Do you know if any of it was challenged? If so, how? And so on...

All of the clubs statements.
GP refusing to attend disciplinary on legal grounds
GPs shambolic defense live on TV
GP not taking legal action despite threatening over 3 weeks ago
Radio silence from PFA since backing their man at the same time.
GP not coming clean with what he has been accused of.

To be clear: I like Gus alot, love what he did for the club, think he was a GREAT manager and would miss him lots if we'd got someone like Sparky in. I just reckon he got caught doing something naughty. Then tried to get away with it, and failed.

I will happily change my opinion if something comes out to suggest he was hard done by, but I haven't seen anything that even hints at that.

Off for lunch
