i would offer deals to murray , bridcutt, el-abd, navarro, dicker and sandaza. then if / when we strengthen in the championship gus will try to buy a player who is better than these. this in turn will get the above playing better to try to win a place in the team as they could drop to being on the bench or a squad player. then , heres the deal , if they dont make it they will be under contract and all those players will command a fee that we can put straight back into the team.

for example you have to give dicker a contract. nottingham forest and burnley have been sniffing around already. how much would the fee be if he was under contract? £500 k?

Unfortunately it doesn't work quite like that in the real world. If Burnley or Nottingham Forest were that interested, they'd have probably signed him by now for free on a pre-contract.

It would not surprise me at all to see El-Abd released if we went up. ,

Don't always agree with you but I think that is about spot on. Harsh though it might sound on a player who has really given his all !
.

I think Adam's chance of a new contract could depend on what he asks for- if he is willing to sign a new contract on squad players wages for 1 year I think he should be given a chance

i agree with some of this belive it or not, best thing you have ever posted. i do feel it would be very very harsh to let adam go tho,

Some interesting comments and I'd have to agree with most of them:

El-Abd has the spot at the moment and has formed a solid partnership with Greer, but in the Championship against strikers who can headthe ball he may come unstuck.

possibly Dicker and El Abd but not sure if they will make it .

I'm prepared to bet £100 with anyone here, who is DIM enough to think El Abd will NOT be offered a new deal. Any takers?

Anyone? ???
