The guy who does the commentary on the extended highlights on the Seagulls player seems to think him and Tano were gesturing towards the directors box.

@NorthStandChat wasn't to "the powers that be" it was to his son, sat just behind the dug out! The money gesture, translates to quality.
On a completely unrelated topic.
What was the BS Robbie Fowler came out with after his 'snorting coke' goal celebration.

If wikipedia is to be believed, it was Houllier who came out with the BS excuse:

In 1999, Fowler was fined £60,000 by his club for bringing the game into disrepute. Whilst celebrating his goal against Liverpool's Merseyside rivals, Everton, Fowler used the white line of the penalty area to simulate cocaine use.[10][22] Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier stated that this was a Cameroonian grass eating celebration, learnt from teammate Rigobert Song.[23] Defending himself, Fowler later said this was a response to Everton fans who had insulted him with false accusations of drug abuse. Fowler received a four match suspension from the FA for this incident. At the same FA disciplinary hearing, Fowler received a further two match suspension due to a separate incident in which he had taunted the Chelsea defender Graeme Le Saux by waving his backside at him as Le Saux's wife and children watched from the stands. Fowler later attempted to justify his actions by suggesting his homophobic taunts were simply an extension of gamesmanship. The FA imposed a £32,000 fine and a six match ban for the two incidents.[24]

Hmm, why would he do that unless his son had previously doubted Vicente's quality to his own father lol.

It does all seem quite curious, particularly with Tano so involved. Why would Tano be so eager to make a point to Poyet, Jnr?

Not defending anyone but can you seriously tell me poyet jnr hasn't given his dad some stick about him signing someone who is always injured.

I still don't think it was to his son, but if anyone thinks Diego views Gus the same way the players do and doesn't have a bit of banter with him is naive

Don't think Gus is unprofessional enough to make gestures about money to a chairman, who has already backed him to the hilt, during a game

Or rude enough.

I suspect it is a gesture of quality. Gus and Tanno probably get banter about Vicente's playing record with us - and that was a moment for a bit of light-hearted payback.

This. Seems clear enough if that gesture can be translated to "quality" in Hispanic culture.
I'm fairly confident Bloom and the board must have been unsettled at times this season by the non appearance of Vicente, so when he wins the game on his own during a 15 minute cameo, Gus is entitled to point out his contribution and the reason why he's here.

Just far enough away from LDC
It wasnt shown on the TV highlights but after the second goal went in, Poyet also did a chest pumping gesture which was shown on the Big screen.

I (like DKM and Simster) don't believe either were a negative gesture but were likely to be a more spontaneous reaction around quality and also a payback for the tough love (and support) that Gus has shown to the Dagger.

To be honest, having beaten Portsmouth (the second most important hoem game this season in terms of rivalry), Gus could have run down the touchline, baring his arse whilst Tanno dry rooted Charlie and I wouldnt give a monkeys

Tanno just looks as though he is celebrating not joining in with Poyet's gesture. I think both were spontaneous rather than meditated.

Excuse me !

Was only pointing out that a couple of posters questioned whether his son would say anything to Gus

Didn't claim to be any 'knowledge bomb'

Anyway I'll let you get back to picking holes in posts as you seem to be great at it
