Gone imo - they'll want him to continue the Rodgers way and he gets his springboard to a team that are doing no less than what we might expect if we could get up ...... but they are already there!

Why wait? No matter what his budget is next season we've still got to finish ahead of the likes of Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich, Forest, Derby, Blackpool etc .. not to mention the promoted or relegated clubs. We could be here years and all the time his CV gets eroded little by little. Keep Swansea in the Prem (no matter where) and he would have over achieved and get his wishes in good time

Our Poyet won't leave. BHA is pretty much his very own club and he's a pretty smart fella. He's given the freedom to do as he pleases and he's assembled his own team.
Our manager, just like any intelligent person will always look at 'the long game'. Not cash in for a 12-24 months contract with more pressure and less freedom.

Please take faith in these wise words.

Everything is in place for Gus to build a dynasty here , great Chairman , new beautiful and expanding ground , training facilities to come , millions when promotion is achieved , believe he should stay and would be very suprised if he departs for Swansea, stunned in fact.

At the end of the day, no doubt Gus will look after number one first.

Gus will be strong favourite for the Swansea job because it seems like a good fit, but let's see, eh? It doesn't follow that he'll go just because the bookies say so.

Agree with this.

I think our definitions of "realistically" differ quite a lot.
Fulham are to all intents and purposes a similar sized club to Swansea, as are we. And they did even better not so long ago - finishing 7th, qualifying for Europe, and getting to the UEFA cup final.

Why shouldn't Swansea aim as high as that?

My biggest worry is. Gus goes, you can whistle if you want to see Vicente in a Brighton shirt again. I for one was looking forward to seeing him again this season.

Swansea has prepared reports on managers from La Liga in case Rodgers was leaving

Fingers crossed
I could see that. I think they're in a position now where they could attract a decent manager from abroad, potentially with European experience or at least a better pedigree than Gus. That was genuinely my first thought. Clearly Gus is going to get linked, but I do think their owner may be a little more imaginative/ambitious with his targets.

Not Luton! Thank God
No chance of gus getting a top 8 prem job at the moment so might want a stepping stone. If it was Xmas and Swansea were in the bottom 6 and Brighton top 6 he shouldn't bother but a whole season in the prem with a side that has its chequebook ready might be too good to resist.

If offered it he will go - sideways step ? rubbish they are in the premier and he will get himself noticed. We may be a mid table team this year and where would that leave him ?

Maybe soon we will say the king is dead long live the king ?

Why would he go to what is essentially a smaller club in the middle of nowhere? They may be in the Premier League now, but they won't be for long.

Because it's all about Chelsea. He will expect to take Swansea forward, because he has massive self belief and why not? The next step then become easier. If not Chelsea then Spurs. We are a stepping stone and if he can fast track himself I believe he'll be off to Swansea as the next stone. It really is all about Chelsea imo

Swansea ARE in a much better place than us at the moment. Potential means nothing the way things are, manangers grab their chances. There are very few Dario Gradis who are in it for the long term.

Seems a logical punt from Swansea's point of view. Gus and Rodgers are known to put out teams playing in a similar style so it is a logical progression. He's also a fairly big name that would probably do their ticket sales no harm.

Whether Gus would go for this, I have no idea. Too many variables that we will never be party to. Will just have to see what happens. Either way, I have confidence in Tony Bloom keeping on the path Gus has set us on and making the right appointment.

Que sera etc...
