That's exactly what he did, and it was naive in the extreme. It's one thing to say, 'let's have a go because we have nothing to lose' and another to expose the team (and the fans) to an embarrassing and confidence-shattering defeat.
We would all have rather remained relatively solid as we had been in the first half, and lost 3-1, than to get the hiding we did. Three in defence with Noone trying to cover as left-back. WFT?!
I think Poyet has lost it a bit in the last two matches, experimenting with unproven line-ups and formations (why on earth wasn't Mattock playing - El-Abd is really not a full back). I'm sure he will learn from this though - I'm just thankful that it wasn't as bad as Palace's 9-0 thrashing.
But please, please, please can we have A NEW GOALKEEPER.

And as a result get well and truly whipped? I disagree. It made us look naive and unprofessional. It truly was men against boys. We were criminally exposed at the back once El-Abd came off. Liverpool could have easily scored ten. How would you have felt about it then? Pleased we'd "had a go"? Ridiculous nonsense.

you can`t blame just the keeper the whole team was raped in the 2nd half following gus`s substitutions, replacing Buckley with Noone so that he could play at Anfield was Madness Noone is no where near as good as Buckley and that contributed to us losing the game gus f***ed up move onReally did not matter. We were appalling across the whole of the defence. A loss is a loss. We need a decent keeper, we missed Mattock and Reyes and felt so bloody sorry for Bridcutt especially.

As he did against Millwall. I think we have to accept he's a young manager and he's going to make mistakes, but the last two games have seriously got me wondering at times - does he know what the f**k he's doing...? Why oh why, for instance, does he persist with Barnes? And leaving only three defenders on today was suicidal. I'm sure he'll have us eating our words again soon tho - onwards to the play-offs...

- Playing Barnes from the off, behind Vokes seemed an odd one at first but he did an okay job, particularly dropping back without the ball in the first half. After that he was dog, mind you
- Not starting CMS when the game plan seemed to be to counter and play with pace, was also an odd one. Granted he might have played Vokes for his height at set pieces
- Playing a half fit Buckley
- Moving to 3 at the back when 3-1 down is fair enough but a bit of foresight might think, move one of those defenders into midfield, so if it goes wrong, you can revert back to a 4 and do a bit of damage control
Those were to me the mistakes Gus made. However, I think the players made as many individual errors on the pitch. No one really came away with too much credit from the game unfortunately.

Why all the despondency we played well for the first half but unfortunately Brezovan lost the game for us just before half time. They then came out for the 2nd half and tore us apart and as they scored again Gus had no choice but to go for it. In the cup you may as well lose 10-1 as lose 3-1.

No point saying what he did wrong, we lost 6-1 and we need to get over it very quickly for Hull next week, CANT let this affect our league performance !!!!
