Chris Hughton is a far superior man and manager than Poyet could ever hope to be - FACT. We've ended up better off without Poyet in the long term - I cannot do anything other than laugh at his egotistical managerial wanderings these days, he fell into the trap of believing his own hype.

Does anyone have any idea whether Oatway or Taricco are actually considered good at their jobs anywhere other than the mind of Gus?

It's actually admirable loyalty that he brings them with him wherever he goes (and that they follow) but I'm always curious as to whether they're either being held back from something better by staying with him.

Of course, the other side to that coin is that without Gus they could both be left on the scrapheap...

Poyet like many managers prefer people they can trust rather than not, it might buy them an extra month or two during the inevitable difficult time and then maybe ride it out.

Who knows maybe they are talented, probably not but deliver what Poyet tries to instill throughout the club or moreso the first team squad, so fair play to them, its such a difficult industry, driven primarily by vested interest and self preservation.

So in that way they have done very well and are still in an environment that pays big money, success in itself.

You would imagine that loyalty / blind devotion to Gus Poyet is the primary qualification for the job. I don't see Gus surrounding himself with people that contradict his thoughts or are anything less than fully enthusiastic about each and every one of his ideas.
