Gus' 23 Man Squad - Anyone else worried?

I realise there are transfer funds available and yes there is still plenty of time but we've been in this position before and we brought in some very, very poor players.
As I said though, I would very much like to be proved wrong

Brezovan (11 clean sheets or something daft)
Elphick (Back to his best)
Painter (class signing from a Championship club)
El-Abd (still improving, solid at the end of the season)

Navarro (player of the season form after Christmas)
Dicker (great user of the ball)
Bennett (loads of screamers and assits)

Murray (14 goals last season despite his injury/disciplinary problems)

If that isn't the core of a good squad then I don't know what is. it's not concerning at all. Especially when you consider that they all played a big part in our superb run in. Thrown in possibly Lua Lua and Hendrie, a couple of loans, a couple of transfers, and a couple of freebies, and you have a decent team.

Just wish people would chill the f*ck out!!

I'll be worried all the time Holroyd's in that squad.

The team we finished the season with:

Brezovan - great goalkeeper

Calderon - Flair going forward but not as comfortable defending - replaceable
Elphick - Best player since January - showed signs of his potential
El-Abd - The best 3 months I have ever seen from him - but I'd expect Gus to sign another centre back
Painter - Changed our season around, quality at the back - potential captain

Bennett - Showed class all season and we can expect more from him next year
Dicker - Great passer of the ball - a cert in the team
Navarro - Worked well with Crofts and Dicker
Crofts - good performances all season, but not sure he could fit in to a 4-4-2, with LuaLua

Murray - Scores goals when he is on form
Barnes - Scores goals.

Our bench is looking thin, so injuries could cause a problem but we have the base for a really good side.

I'd expect something like this for next season:
