I just saw a photo of GG on Facebook and thought "Blimey - that's a brave choice of outfit", and have just seen this thread.

Make your own mind up.

Fit girls, poor outfits. Unfortunate but far better than the other way around. Do a wonderful job so thanks. Do think the uniform 'design' is far better than last season's, it's just the 'cut' that doesn't quite work somehow? Sorry probably completly wrong terminology but get the idea?

Normal girls have a bit of belly, humans tend to eat and sometimes bloat so it's normal.
I'm not a fan of GG myself as I can't see the point, if its purely for the kids why not just have kids doing routines in unsexy outfits?
If its for the titillation of men, maybe let's not do it in front of the kids?

Can't understand the responses. Two of them were noticeably overweight. They perform on the pitch and if a player was overweight then it would be okay to comment, but oh no, can't say anything negative about our Gully's Girls.

Yep, but they're not highly paid professional sportspeople!! Watch some of the f***ing Olympics and see Denise Lewis say that body image and "what you look like" is more important in the media than actually winning a poxy medal. I LOVE the fact that our cheerleaders are all shapes and sizes and are not some highly-drilled all Tits and Teeth yank crew. Everyone's kicking off about corporate pricing of beers and pies on one thread and then saying they want their Cheerleaders to look EXACTLY like some corporate media/porn-derived idea of what cheerleaders should be on this one.

Took these snaps of the 49er cheerleaders a few years back.

I suppose it all comes down to if you prefer the toned hotty or the girl next door look.

Personally I'd take both!

Was aproching the ground at 1.30 and all the girls were out delivering flyers for reading game and go to say they are really friendly. They came in dicks bar and were the same. They really enjoy their time being gully girls and they are fit.

No your absolutely correct. You can't say anything bad about Gullys Girls so shut your cake hole. I am guessing you dont train night after night, give up free your time, work with local schools and clubs to encourage kids, promote our club, generate sales for testimonials, do a huge amount of charity work and a 1001 other things that they do. Does that help you understand the response?

Oh and for the record i think they are all great looking girls.

Of course they are all lovely girls and their all someone's daughter (I have a daughter of my own ) but if your a size 16 you wouldn't want to squeeze into a size 6 outfit ( my daughters words not mine ) , I don't see a problem having girls of different shapes & sizes but have an outfit that flatters them all

Some inverted vertical pleats or additional fabric around the mid drift would have solved the problem,maybe a double skirt effect?
