No question, nothing comes close: Larry Carlton's guitar solo on Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan is the best guitar ever recorded - voted, I believe, by Rolling Stone magazine as the best guitar solo ever. Or something.

Anyway, get to Limewire now, rip it off and have something in place to stop your jaw shattering on the ground when Lazza does his thing. The man's a GENIUS - some his other stuff with the Crusaders is fairly bland funk-lite but with some incredible guitar playing in between, the instrumental Spiral being a prime example.

Manic Street Preachers- Archives Of Pain, very underrated guitar solo IMO

Red House-Hendrix is also an awesome bluesy solo

Man of the World - Fleetwood Mac. Before Fleetwood Mac became a steaming pile of MOR turd, they were a bloody good blues band. It's not the flashiest solo ever, in fact it's incredibly simple to play, but it fits with the song perfectly and remains (in my opinion) one of Peter Green's finest moments.

I don't think I know that but from your description it sounds good. I hate all those Steve Vai widdly, widdly solo's or Eric Clapped outs blues snorathons.

Gary Moore's Parisienne walkways is pretty evocotive if not the best ever guitar solo

Mark Knopfler - Sultans of Swing

Unfortunately I don't play the guitar, my brother does and seems to think Sweet Child O' Mine is piss easy, so much so he insists on showing off by playing it wrong handed behind his back.

What a wanker he is :censored:
