I remember standing half way up the biggest terrace in the country to watch the Abion play there sometime in the mid 70s. Hard to believe it was once one of the highest capacity grounds in the country.
Maybe the 3-0 win? My memory is rubbish though.

I was hoping the bonfire in the middle was enough to throw people off the track!

I don't think the lights are still there though on that flats ...
Please tell me I'm being whooshed here - you don't really think those lights are on the flats, do you?

Saw the Albion win 4-0 there in the 70s , might have been boxing day ,did Ronnie Howell score 3or 4,and a massive fight broke out on that terrace in the. second half
I thought it was the Saturday before Christmas, I think poskett scored a hat trick

That was the only game I saw when Cloughie was the manager, and also my biggest away win for decades (until we won by the same score at Ashton Gate)
Howell 3 (1 pen) and O'Sullivan

Me too. Didn't it hold 77,000 or something on a grass bank. Limited by the time we got there to just a few thousand.
Great video here

Just found my programme for the game in 1977

This one anybody ?
Know the answer, but won't ruin it! Read about their history and remember that double arch roof, an iconic name in English football.

My favourite Smiths loving, BBC DJ of my yoof (RIP) may share something in common!

That was the only game I've been punched at - on that huge terrace. Think I must have been celebrating too much. Fortunately the bloke slunk back off into the crowd after hitting me.

I saw us there New Year's Day 1985. 1-0 after 46 seconds and held on for dear life for the remainder of the match.

I was at that too. Gary O'Reilly getting the winner. I think this was the only time we were in Charlton's half for the entire match -
