Classic NCS thread, reminds me of that 'how many are they bringing down' Forest one a couple of seasons back. BensGrandad you are priceless!

NCS? My son did that - National Citizen Service. He had an awards evening at the Amex (obviously, Calde was there giving out the awards).

Perhaps Calde can give out certificates to Arsene and his bronzed gladiators?

Sometimes I despair... it is a simple act of respect and admiration for the Champions. What is all the fuss about?

I'm not sure you're quite grasping the sheer magnitude of the football club we are playing host to. You do realise we're playing ARSENAL ? Frankly I'd be honoured to be in the same COUNTY as them, let alone the same stadium. Win lose or draw I'll be applauding the Arsenal players onto and then off the pitch, and will spend most of the game just gawping slack-jawed at their team. Probably dribbling.

Arsenal. Its Arsenal.

Well in that case Easy you have inspired me , I will doff my cap to them and ruddy well show my admiration ,its the least I can do to have them grace our humble abode .And thank you for showing me the error of my ways ....it wont happen again.

I'm not sure that half is enough for Arsenal on the half and half scarves, I shall be purchasing a two thirds and third scarf to acknowledge the Gunners superiority.

In my own strange world
I shall wear the full Arsenal kit (including boots) to the match, wait at the away supporters entrance and personally greet each fan individualy and acknowledge how far superior they and their club are over me and our pathetic small town club.I will then spend the entire match in raptures of delight as they show how the beautiful game should be played, winning by at least ten goals, that done I will return to the confines of my peasant Sussex hovel and "enjoy myself" as I watch a re-run of the match and realise how lucky I have been to even be in the same county as the Mighty Gunners.I am so excited just writing this I am soiling my underwear in anticipation!

presumably in recognition of their status as one of our country's leading clubs...

Why not? It isn't every day that the likes of Arsenal come to town.

Nothing wrong with some old fashioned sportsmanship.

It will be an every other week occurrence in a couple of seasons though.

So no fooking chance, I'll boo them like every other team we play [emoji1]

What's the point in even holding the game? Our players are just going to be embarassed being on the same pitch as these modern day Gods.

I vote we petition the club to show a 90 minute video of all the manifest triumphs in Arsenal's great and glorious history. That way we can all show our appreciation for a football club the like of which we will never see again in our pitiful lifetimes, without causing their players the inconvenience of having to play us.

I've applied to the club to 'escort' one of our players, only to be able to shake the Arsenal squads hands.

I'm late 20's and a bit burly but I think BHA might accept my volunteer.

To be honest, I'm surprised we are making their fans pay to come and watch us Neanderthals hoof the ball up the pitch. I think as a kind gesture towards them, offer to double the price of our tickets, so they can come watch the game for free, and also have a free bar for them in the South Stand.

I have enrolled as a Junior Gunner in order to have a chance to win the opportunity of being Arsenal's matchday mascot on Sunday. A one-off chance to walk with Gods in front of my envious friends.

I'm all aquiver at the thought of being allowed to be in my seat when these gods from another dimension float on to our pitch at least two inches above the greensward
Of course we will be beaten (as we so richly deserve) as Hughton will have told the Albion players to reverentially have their heads bowed so as not to gaze upon their faces and thus incur their displeasure . . .

And now back to reality and let's hope Gordon Greer kicks the feckers off the park !!!
