With around 200 tickets left having seen Grimsby sell out in 12hrs, Grimsby fans might be finding their ways into the home stand. Their chairman thinks they could have sold 10,000+ tickets.
Reminisce on old times. They're good, honest football fans wanting to see their team play an FA Cup QF. The only difference between you and them is they're from Grimsby, or have grown up supporting them. We're all people and football club fans, not gangsters.
Same way I feel about big 6 plastics rocking up in the home ends. It's annoying but if you shut up and don't start being dickheads I'll pretend I didn't see you. But if you start celebrating them scoring or trying to start / join their chants then it's collaring time as far as I'm concerned.
Wasn’t that long ago we had loads of Brighton fans in the home end at Villa in the FA Cup under Poyet. As long as they keep themselves to themselves who cares
This isn’t a PL match - It’s a big day out for Grimsby and their fans. As the bigger and better Club, I believe we should welcome them regardless of where they are sitting. I reckon we should appreciate that in these days of mega rich clubs dominating the English league and the EPL being virtually impossible to break into for clubs below a certain turnover, that the FA cup still creates opportunities for smaller clubs like Grimsby to have their 15 mins. Let them enjoy the occasion.
(If they win, it will be because we played badly so nothing to condemn the oppo for.)
