Is this chap as wealthy as he claims? Reason I ask is that anyone can curate a favourable life-style via social media. I once had the pleasure of the company of a guy who's biggest claim to fame was a contestant on some German reality show. He got knocked out in the early stages. His Insta account showed his brief tv work, and showed it often, with numerous other photos of him in front of cars and fancy hotels in various places.............the reality was he was a taxi driver. Anyone can go to Ibiza and pose in front of someone elses car.....or outside any hotel you wish to chose. Is Tate the same?

If you dig a bit deeper (and I really really wouldn't), that isn't what he says...

His constant defence (it's repetitive dirge) is his quotes are taken out of context. But he defends himself by doing that himself.

He is an incredibly dangerous individual taking very out of date ideas (many borrowed from radical interpretations of religions such as Christianity and Islam) and placing them into a "modern" context of guns, girls, gold, internet porn and bling. Throw in a large dose of Hollywood conspiracy theory for good measure. It wasn't the Romanian Authorities who arrested him you see, it was the "matrix".

Effectively the fusion of a hate preacher and snake oil salesman who is radicalising teenage boys for cash.

The people who are radicalised into any irrational mindset are more often than not vulnerable. Those doing the radicalising know how to appeal to that vulnerability. Unfortunately teenage boys everywhere have forever experienced things that make them vulnerable to this exploitation from religion, patriotism, 'influencers' etc and not all have an environment or an upbringing or the social intelligence or critical thinking that protects them until they've developed enough or given opportunity to feel connected to society again in some way.

The indicators for vulnerability to radicalisation are things many of us will recognise and perhaps have experienced - low self-esteem, being bullied, unsure of identity or place in the world, not feeling a sense of belonging etc. Hear the likes of Tate with that in mind, a bullied teenage boy who doesn't fit in with his peers, who feels girls aren't interested, who is perhaps struggling at school, dislikes sport and music and the other things people around him identify with, and doesn't necessarily have a stable home environment or male role model...then suddenly someone seems to understand and explains not only are you not at fault, it's other people and you're a victim, but he also offers you a 'philosophy' as a way out. I'm not surprised he has an audience. Will they grow out of it? I'd be optimistic most will.

In the Justice system, evidence is given in court by victims. It may be the ‘wrong’ defendant in the dock, but the victims are still victims of a crime. They are helped by Victim Support.
