It did appear that Dunk was culpable for their goal and the Wood glaring miss, but the defence was far more solid once Uwe came on for GG. Perhaps we should put it down as a bad day, but Uwe has the shirt now and it is up to GG to get it back.

I think we learnt a lot about Dunk yesterday. Watching on the stream I thought he was almost as bad as GG at the start. Then Uwe came on and all of a sudden Dunk becomes extremely good. Dunk needs to have a calm technically good player beside him, and Uwe is that man. To my mind Uwe was the most important signing of the close-season. Superb player. Dunk and Uwe together will be immense.

Greer will be one of those players who we will not fully appreciate until after he hangs up his boots when hopefully we can keep him in some capacity

He has been our captain through five of our most successful years in recent history. I think writing him off after 1 bad game may be a little premature

It's funny how people see things differently. If I would to rank the three players in terms of technical ability I'd have Greer, then Dunk, then Uwe. If it came to sheer defence resilience, tackling, blocks etc I'd reverse that order. I would argue that Uwe and Dunk are more robust against the kind of threats that Leeds posed (set pieces and a marauding Chris Wood), whilst Greer and Dunk are a better pairing when we are playing opposition who sit back and we look to build across the back.

Greer has been a critical player for us this season. At his age to play all the games he has plus internationals is a big ask. He is bound to tire sooner or later. He still has a massive part to play in this promotion push.

Feel this is worth a :bounce:

Last night shows what can happen to Dunk / Uwe without Greer leading from the back. Both CBs were 4 or 5's out of 10 and our defence looked the least organised it's been for a while. Thank goodness Stockdale was in such superb form...

Exactly. Though a 4/5 out of 10 for Dunk is generous IMO.

Greer should be, and i think CH see's him as, first choice centre back.

Agree with this. I, like I'm sure many others, was having serious doubts about Greer towards the end/start of this season. He may not be the most technically gifted footballer, but his leadership and organisation is SO key, and it was so obvious we missed that last night.

Greer needs to come straight back in for me. Didnt help Dunk played like a complete asshat and Uwe struggled in the air against their front two.
