I spent almost the whole of last season defending him whilst two of my good friends rubbished him at every given opportunity. Whilst i still believe he is integral to the way we play, defensively he is the weakest player in our back four. last night was the worst I have seen him play excluding his rash red cards.

Gordon Greer is the Championship's answer to Frank Leboeuf. Sent many a winger flying, eg: Buckley's assist for CMS against Ipswich, big long pass from Greer

All three goals were scored from dead central positions that perhaps should have been stopped maybe we need to look into why. Simple solution bring El Abd back to partner Greer.

What game were you watching first goal training ground free kick credit Swindon on the execution second goal Bruno and Greer got beat and goal game from right side navs curled into far corner and third goal straight strike into top corner from our right side get yourself to specs avers

Think you need new friends then. If you spent nearly a whole season defending the man who came second in our player of the season awards in our best season for two decades and you find it hard to after one performance following the boss's orders in a meaningless cup game.... then well I don't know.

1st goal as you say was a training ground free kick right down the centre which a defender or two should have cut out.
2nd goal Greer and Bruno beaten on our right and the ball played across the goal mouth should have again been cut out but it wasn't where was Dunk sitting on his a..e
3rd goal crossed from our right and picked up in the centre of the goal by Navarro and shot again should have been cut out as indeed all balls in the centre of the goal should.

So glasses not needed only to drink out of.

El Abd I am sure would have got his body or foot in the way of at least one of those goals.

Gordon Greer: good Scotsman; great player. Seems odd so many seagulls fans come on this site to slag off our own players. Pretty sad.

Well said.

I think it's more than odd and it's very sad, you could understand it if they were Palace trolls; I'm not sure you could call them Seagulls fans.

Perhaps they're just unable to understand or accept that that a player or even the team can have an off day, probably because in their own world they are so perfect.

What is being forgotten is that players playing for us aren't perfect and will make mistakes the problem comes when like last night a player makes a number of mistakes or a number of players have an off night.

Its not that at all i think he was really good last season and repeatedly said it, but his lack of pace is serious now. Would love him to dispel my concerns and have a great season.

I didn't think he played badly. His defending for their second was unfortunate, and frankly bizarre, but other than that he didn't do much wrong. Over hit a few passes, but it's been years since he was allowed to play a long pass out of defence. It'll take him some time to warm up. Nothing to worry about from our defensive colossus.

What are you on about saying it's been years since Greer was allowed to hit a long pass ? He has done many times for us over the last couple of seasons. He has hit some right peaches of a long ball over the top where we have gone onto and scored. Not sure what you are going on about.

In your rush to fire off an angry reply, you missed.my.sarcasm. I love watching Greer spray balls about, usually his feel is much better and doesn't misplace so many but he did knock a few long on tuesday.

Well your not very good at being sarcastic(if that is what you call it) as i wasn't the only one to miss your hilarious wit. Go on adimt to me you are now back tracking your statement as you seem to take an eternity to reply.

I hope you're not as miserable as you come across. No hint of sarcasm there. The "eternity" it took me to reply is largely due to my insomnia, and reaching for my phone to keep me entertained for a few more minutes. Nothing to see here, I am going to change apps and help a distressed frog cross the road.
