I did not move it myself but suspect it happened due to descending into point scoring, Whatabouttery and settling old scores.

As for the topic itself, I think he’s a hypocrite, an idiot or perhaps both.

If you are going to criticise something or use a questionable product/service then don’t endorse/use it unless they offer you a load of dosh (eg Beckham trousering £150m from Qatar).

They are such whiners when they troll and abuse and then inevitably get sanctioned or slung in the pit. Always cause a fuss. My four year old niece handles disappointment better than this lot.

I agree about owning up and that others should follow his lead but, as a Green party representative, surely he should have enough principles not to fly in the first place.

Depending on what time of day and how busy the train or a flight would be, in real terms the Co2 difference could, could, be negligible or it could, could be twice as much on a plane than a train.

But there’s no point investigating facts when there are witches to be hunted!

It's probably because people were making posts that had no relevance whatsoever to the thread subject in an attempt to drag the thread off topic. I believe the youngsters call it 'trolling'. It seems it used to happen a lot on NSC and, I am given to believe, got so bad in the past that some posters had so many warnings for doing it, the mods had to ban them. I've even heard rumour that one kept getting banned multiple times for it, but can't believe anyone would be that stupid

I'm at bit off on loss on this one - Sometimes, even if you are sympathetic to a certain cause or party, you still have to be able to recognise a complete and utter hypocrisy when you see one. The Green party are ostensibly a single issue party, the environment. The biggest contributing sector in terms of CO2 is transport. The biggest contributor within that sector is air travel. The biggest contributor in terms of KG per miles flown (by a stretch) is short haul/domestic air travel. It's the very opposite of what the Green Party are all about, in political terms, it is an ultimate hypocrisy.

We can all say that the plane was 'going anyway', or 'the train might be cancelled' (really?!?) but then everyone is free to fly everywhere and we're back to square one....
