its a fine idea as long as provision is made for trades and delivery. not sure how buses would fit, though they should be moved to electric solving the pollution aspect.
Great idea. Not before time.
Could turn Brighton city centre to a grand European style piazza making it easy to walk around, seating areas outside.

With a name like worthingseagull123 neither are you
What a load of balls.
This happy clappy drivel is hilarious.
You clearly are not a Brightonian.
More seats for vagrants and open spaces for their tents, great idea.
Well done Amy Heley
Ignore the Argus messageboard dinosaur gammons, some of which are on here as well. They will never understand what our city is about.
So far is it about 30 for, and 2 against?
Great thread.
Everyone who would support the OP is unfortunately stuck in traffic.
Think it would be transformative. The areas that really work in Brighton are already pedestrianised. Clock Tower Piazza would be amazing with a tree lined avenue from the station.
City lacks real progressives though who just cannot see past their car keys.
Problem is they need to access Brighton to deliver stuff to shops
No. Unfortunately despite growing up in Brighton I could not afford to live there. Thanks to all these ********s and lovies that moved down from London and seeing all the house prices shoot up.
It is better to have a house in Worthing than a flat in Brighton.
Funny thing though, Worthing is actually a nicer place to live than Brighton. Brighton went down hill in early 2000s.
Every single forward-thinking car-free shopping zone in the world will have come up with a perfectly adequate workaround for that old chestnut. Why would Brighton be any different?

Is that the Worthing with the many pedestrianised areas and the current further proposals ongoing ?
Can’t wait for the North Laine luvvies to spit their cappuccino out when they can’t have a removal van, or a disabled person can’t get a cab

Bring back the trams.

Why do people vote for nutters like this?
Hopefully the council will reject it.
