I think I've already said (numerous times) that I'm participating in events to help and probably going to Plymouth on the 24th. However, I think that expecting the club to wear our away shirts for a home game is going too far, even if we are on TV.

I'm not doubting you or your support for their plight. Personally i'd like to see the club make this statement of support, but understand why you might disagree.

The fans getting involved in a "Save PAFC" campaign is one thing, but the Club can't really be seen to officially endorse a demonstration against the current Plymouth owners or board (whoever the hell that might be at the current moment). Thats probably why the club wouldn't sanction playing in our green away strip v Leeds.

Also, with our own campaign, the battle lines were clearly defined - "Dickhead out, Dick Knight in". But I'm not completely sure what the Plymouth demos are going to be for ? Yes they've been royally f***ed over and the club is a complete shambles, but is there actually someone waiting in the wings to take over who the fans DO favour ?
.

You raise a couple of very valid points-especially the one about the club not getting too involved or seen to be actively endorsing a campaign against another club's owners. Your other point about campaign battle lines being unclear is also valid. We're trying to help Argyle save their club but it would seem that even Plymouth fans are not entirely sure which of the options is the best one for them. We can only collectively say "Sort the f***ing mess out before their club disappears" and show support for their campaign. It isn't our fight though-they need to be the ones in control, not Albion fans: if for no other reason than they know more than us what they are fighting for and who they are fighting against. I still don't know exactly what it is we're supporting other than to garner publicity to save help Argyle. I'll continue to give my support but there are limits as to what I can personally support.

The Albion cannot be seen to be actively campaigning against another club's owners. That is very dangerous ground.

You've admitted there was only 14 of you at your meeting so what gives you the right to badger the club about not wearing the blue and white stripes at a home match especially a TV one ? Albion fans apart from a few of you will find that offensive, I can't be bothered about your meetings and I've got no interest whatsoever in it.

This. A few internet geeks who have gotten a bit of a power rush to their heads have no right to ask the club to play in our away kit for this fixture.

Well, I am glad that other fans gave us the time of day in the dark days, Fans United was once of the best experiences of being a Brighton fan. You probably missed the game though cause you were sorting out a pretend toe-to-toe nawty 'off' with all the other 'top boys'.

The worst thing is that the Brighton supporters running/organizing Fans United are showing hundred times more passion for saving Plymouth than their own supporters. Just spent an hour reading the PASOTI board and what a miserable bunch of defeatists they are, if we had shown that attitude we would have ceased existing in 1997.
