Random Quest by the Beeb on BBC4, crikey 18 years ago. A brilliant parallel worlds love story, based on a John Wyndham novel.

The Time Machine (1960) with Rod Taylor, something wonderful about that film. Was it always aired in the spring. Liked the H G Wells novel too.

Dark City, but the version without the added voiceover that the studio insisted on, which gives away the film's twist in the first few minutes.

Amazing how easy it is for a studio to turn a great film into a shit one with one stupid decision.

Arrival, Interstellar, Blade Runner, Starship Troopers are all films I love.

I will throw "Moon" in there as one of my favourite sci films.

And as a recommendation I will suggest "Prospect" with Sophie Thatcher and Pedro Pascal. Goes under the radar, but a very good sci film.

We watched this during a GCSE media class. Most of us enjoyed it but I distinctly remember one lad saying "This is shit", to which the teacher, Mr A, replied, "no, you're shit". Not sure the teacher would get away with that these days but we found it hilarious
