I saw Carter USM playing at a school in Steyning 89-90, I think, a charity do, they don't like to talk about it though.

I loved their album "the taking of Peckham 123". They were far too clever for their own good.

If we're talking The Cure, and we're talking 'anthems' then we have to have 'Boys Don't Cry' and 'In-between days'. Two of the greatest songs EVER.

EVER.

No - I don't think so. He gets a mention in the chorus

Moving up on 2nd bass behind Nicholas van whatisface.. I think it's about another Rachman like bastard, sadly.

Spear of Destiny and New Model Army come to mind too as anthemic bands. Never take me alive - anyone?

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun is a great tune... and Aussie bands should get mentioned.

Beds are burning by umm....

Live it up (?)

and back in Blighty - Mary's Prayer by Danny Wilson, Crash by primitives.

We haven't mentioned the ska revival either. Specials, Pirhanas.

...and PiL too.

PiL- fantastic, Public Image was a tune I used to finish Hard house sets with if I was in a good mood.

World Destruction(Lydon with Afrika Bambatta- but worth a mention)
Rise
Don't Ask Me
This Is Not A Love Song
Order of Death, anyone- "This is what you want, this is what you get!"
Flowers of Romance

great music, I gotta go to bed.
Thinking caps on chaps- lets revisit this tomorrow!

'Strawberry Fields' by Candy Flip

:jester: I AM joking, though I did once roadie with a mate for a Candy Flip mini-tour of the North-West. Which was nice!

No one took any bloody notice when I was going on about this and linked to the video last week:down:

Bugger me sideways. TWO Libertines tracks, but only ONE Oasis effort?

Shocking.

NME have this massive obsession with the libertines for some reason.

Sorry to correct you but the album that was on was 101 Damnations.

30Something, their second album, is one of the best of all time. FACT.

As you say, some legendary lyrics.
