Ennio Morricone by a country mile for me. His top six...

1. A Fistful of Dynamite / Giù La Testa (Main theme)
2. Once Upon A Time In The West (Jill's Theme)
3. My Name Is Nobody
4. Il Triello from Il Buono, Il Brutto, Cattivo (The Good, The Bad & The Ugly)
5. Once Upon A Time In America (Cokey's Theme)
6. Chi Mai from 'Le Professionel'

John Barry is excellent, and he comes close-ish, but no cigar.

Nino Rota's my favourite,. just ahead of Bernard Hermann and Erich Korngold's swashbuckler scores - especially Robin Hood.

But i also love Dmitri Tiomkin's score for High Noon and Miles Davis for Ascenseur pour l'échafaud.

I like Harold Faltermeyers scores for the classics, such as TopGun and Beverly Hills Cop.

I thought the Babel music was superb, bought it the next day - and the composer of most of it (Gustavo Santaolalla) has since won Oscar and Bafta for it.
