Well they disappeared after that album so I guess it depends on your definition of "average" really.

It's an album that's always first on my Krautrock playlist for the car every time I drive to Germany - along with Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express, and DAF's Alles ist Gut and Gold und Liebe... oh, and BEETHOVEN.

Scorpions can f*** right off though.

Useless fact of the day: the drive from Bamberg to Eindhoven takes EXACTLY the same length of time as it takes to listen to all 9 Beethoven symphonies back-to-back.

Yes. And I remember as 10 year olds inviting you and MIKE RANDALL to my house as my first local friends.

You then promptly had a FIGHT in my bedroom. :(

Don't remember the fight:rolleyes:

No LEE, it's shit. Factoid. Always was.

Groovy Train was far far better.

And apparently the length of CDs was determined by Sony wanting to be able to fit an entire version of the Ninth on one CD.

So - fave Beethoven Symphony, if it's not too wanky? For me:
1. 6th
2. 3rd
3. 9th

Digging this thread, and just to say 'Duel' is in my all-time top three records and Bran van 3000's 'Drinking in LA' is probably one of the toppest Summer tunes EVER!!!! :yahoo:

1. 5th (corny I know, but I've been a sucker for the 4th movement ever since Lowenbrau pils used to use it for their "The legend is Lowenbrau" ads back in the 80s...)
2. 6th
3. 3rd
