Brighton born and bred. Yes I was often in Coasters. Loved the place along with Sherrys and the suite. Have since moved but not too far away.

I know we've touched on Danse Society before. I saw them at Brighton's New Regent in the early 80's.
Did you get to see them live in the UK or Canada?

Evening squire. No I never did. So jealous! But I suspect they may not have been all that live....correct me if wrong....last gig I saw at the NR was Siouxie and the banshees and XTC....

Danse Society are reformed - orig guitarist plus newbies....I don't like much...

Stunning recordings though. Stunning.

I'd say I have 90% of that on my iPOD.

Not to diss today - things are fragmented and curated and specialised and still amazing - but for all of that to be a fan list from a radio 1 programme with 1-3 million listeners is unbelievable. Great days for music.

So much great stuff there. John Peel was a music and football loving legend.

I'm lucky to have been at just the right age, to lap it all up at the time. It's great now, finding like minded classy folk on NSC.

superb , sadly ive never seen them live but have got a couple of their cds recorded live , i reckon you'd be hard pushed to hear a more genuinely exciting LIVE band.
