Hmm....

First goal (v Tunisia): John Stones' header from Ashley Young's corner is brilliantly saved and Kane taps in from three yards out.

Second goal (v Tunisia): Kieran Trippier's corner is flicked on by Harry Maguire and Kane heads in from three yards out.

Third goal (v Panama): From the penalty spot, high into the left-hand corner.

Fourth goal (v Panama): Deja vu. From the penalty spot again, into the same corner.

Fifth goal (v Panama): Kane's only goal from open play. Ruben Loftus-Cheek's low strike deflects off his heel and sails into the net.

Sixth goal (v Colombia): Another from the penalty spot, straight down the middle.

Yep, still to shake off the FLAT TRACK BULLY and world class cheat tag as an England player

Who should have won the top scorer for the world cup then?

I’m not a Kane super fan by any means. But I think qualifying someone’s achievements this way is unfair.

“England got an easy route in 2018 lolz”. Yes, but in the past England have lost to Iceland.

“Kane won the golden boot lol but he only scored against no hopers”. Irrelevant. He scored the most goals at WC2018. He won the golden boot.

Do you know how good the teams were that every other golden boot winner has scored against down the years? Doubt it. Because it’s irrelevant.

A different argument, I said neither of these things. The Golden Boot, imo, is no evidence of being world class when it is penalties, tap-ins and someone else's shot that hit him.

As I said, to me he's looked far off World Class at WCs and Euros and the evidence of a Golden Boot trophy on his mantlepiece is a bit shakey. That's all dear.

You seem to have talked him out of the golden boot because the goals are "shakey" - so you must have a view on who deserves it more?

Seems weird to talk down only our second golden boot winner, odd since it seems easy.

Griezmann was joint second - 3 pens

Lukaku had 4 goals as well - 2 against panama and 2 against tunisa

Oh dear. He won the Golden Boot deservedly due to the number of goals he scored. I'm not disputing that FACT. I am giving an OPINION that, to me, he hasn't shown himself to be "world class" (SUBJECTIVE) at WCs or Euros. So far. I think he's a very good player but a Golden Boot trophy based on penalties, tapins and a deflection isn't enough evidence for me, personally.

I do hope he picks up form and blasts some quality goals against the Germans and further into the tourno. If he continues playing poorly and gets an avalanche of pens, one in off his arse etc and wins the GB again he still won't be world class, to me.

This'll be the Harry Kane who is on his way to breaking both the PL scoring record and the England one? Yeah proper shit the bloke :ffsparr:
Can't wait in this country to jump on our few stars and slaughter them. Imagine not scoring in three games for a team that's only scored two goals in the tournament? Rubbish the bloke must be, coz some of his pens 3 years ago were against crap teams and the ball went down the middle? Must be useless then.

If someone goes one on one with the German keeper Tuesday night I know who I hope it is...

For me Kane in an England shirt was summed up in the SF v Croatia when we were 1-0 and dominating the first half, a great move saw Kane about 8 yards out on the left of the goal, I think it was Dele Ali ran square and a simple ball across gives him a tap in for 2-0, it was an almost identical position to the chance he had on Tuesday v Czechs, does Kane pass? Does he fook, shoots instead and keeper saves, chance gone. At that moment I KNEW he was all about himself, the goal and golden boot chase was his first priority.

He knows where the goal is but I can’t stand the cheat, what’s followed since with incidents like the one with Lallana make me certain he’s shithouse. Relies on players like Son to do his running for him. If Levy gets £150m for him then it’s the greatest bit of salesmanship since Liverpool somehow got £140m for Courtinho!!

Exactly. Also if we’re going to judge the worthiness of goals should we advocate that Murray’s penalties for us shouldn’t count?

Or Shearers penalties for England? Of course not.

I hate Kane when he plays against us too, so I get it as an Albion fan why the poster above is knocking him a bit. But when given the opportunities he is clearly a world class finisher.

So...
Ederson
Walker Stones Dias Zincenko
Rodri
Gundogen De Brune
Foden Grealish
Kane...
With the likes of Mahrez and Silva on the bench.

Jesus wept.

I dislike Kane and I think he’s overhyped but he is a top striker, just not £150m worth IMO, I also think he’s not 100% fit. He’s looked off it in all 3 matches. Southgate has a dilemma, he needs Kane, to get him sharp he has to play him. Eriksson fell into the same trap in 2006 with Rooney and paid for it. A world class player who is only 90% fit is no longer world class. Even more so when said player is a striker, defender/keeper might get away with it.

Mad isn't it. Mahrez, foden, sterling, grealish, Bernardo, Ferran Torres all going for 2 places

The Sterling leaving rumours are starting to look a lot more logical.

Doesn't look at it but is it the lack of chances and the negative way we are setting up?

If I could sign one player for us this summer it would be Kane, I'm only about £149.999m short...

Yeah, Silva too- was great two seasons ago but from what I saw this year not quite at their level . It's nuts.

Can only conclude the weirdos on this thread bashing game are overreacting because of his recent England form OR closet Arsenal fans OR both.

Sad for English football if these transfers happen by the way, just killing all opposition so they can be lauded for the inevitable quadruple that they will eventually win after chucking a couple of billion at it.

Would bet good money against him going to Spurs. Ego and agent would never allow the ignomony of being a makeweight in the transfer of Harry f***ing Kane in the opposite direction
