Think they're gonna need more than that ...

Their points per game without Grealish was 0.94 last season just about enough to stay up. They are a bang average team I wouldn't classify them as decent.

I'm with Dwayne on this. Villa are bang average and are comfortably the most over rated team in the league.

Grealish completely carried them two years ago and even then they only stayed up because of the ludicrous non goal they conceded against Sheffield United. If that had been given they'd be in the championship now.

Then last year they were still a one man team, Grealish again carrying them. They won two - two of the 12 games that Grealish missed, averaging less than a point a game.

They're an average team that relied on their talisman producing a piece of magic(or winning a free kick/penalty...) or at the very least being double or even tripled up on allowing the rest of them extra space. Without that extra space they managed 11 points in 12 games.

Maybe their new signings will fill the Grealish sized hole in their team but I'm not holding my breath.

Isn't there an NSC user called 'Captain Grealish'? I wonder what he makes of his hero going to Man City?

Yes I know it isn't the same Grealish

Think they’ve recruited well to be honest. I was surprised Buendia didn’t go to a Prem club last year, was keen we sign him, think he’s a great signing. Ings and Bailey also good signings. Buendia, Ings, Watkins and Bailey looks a strong forward line, even without sock boy.

My initial thoughts were that I agreed with you. That's a strong forward line, one which I would love to see at Brighton. But like him or loathe him, they've lost Grealish. That's a lot of defences potentially no longer being unlocked. What will the service to the forwards be like without him? Can Villa play only one of Buendia and Bailey? Can they play both at once? Are they both good at tracking back? It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Villa moving fast to fill the gap in their teams dodgy haircuts.... They are bidding for Todd Cantwell of Norwich...

Wow smart by Villa. Turns out the 3 signings were used with the Grealish money, got the deals done before hand so not to get ripped off

I really thought he would stay with Villa as his local team and be their Dunk. Swayed by bright lights and a larger pile of dosh than he had already. There must be a limited to how much someone needs. Winning stuff - oh, yeah. He’ll win loads of medals but they won’t mean as much as those he could have won staying at home and playing for his own.
