What an absolute idiot that bloke is! I was one of the people watching from the warmth of a pub tonight, and therefore got the benefit of replays and close-ups. All he did tonight was moan at the ref and our players, all the while being smug and digging our players at EVERY opportunity.

He may have scored lots of goals this season, but I'd rather not have someone like that in my team. If I was his manager, I'd be having serious words with him after his reaction after the penalties. Basically, after missing, he walked off laughing and shrugging about it. It was as if he was saying that it didn't really matter anyway, even though he was playing for the league 2 club.

He looked arrogant and acted like a tit for the entire game. So justice was well and truly done when he FLUFFED it all up for his team at the end.

Enjoy League 2 HOLTY. I hope we never touch him with a bargepole :tosser:

He has 18 GOALS so far this season. I'd be happy to have a TIT like that in our squad.

Looks like Tevez's slightly less ugly brother, though.

yeah you're right, football is no place for arrogant players trying to wind up the opposition and garner any favour with the ref. Why would they do that??

he should be SACKED.

I too thought he was a bit of a twat.

The reaction to the penalty miss was also very strange.

Who was he having a dig at at the end of the game? The camera cut to the players celebrating and Forster was gesticulating towards someone or some people? Thought it was the Shrewsbury fans at first but then the camera cut to Holt who was giving someone some verbals as well.

Anyone any ideas?

Holt was being a twat all game. Constantly backing in and trying to tell the ref how to do his job. Very pleased that it was him who missed.

That my friend is a typical striker, and with a goalscoring record he has got this season. I would love him to sign for us in January....

Ok, maybe I didn't explain myself properly to some people.

It was his arrogance that pissed me off the most. He clearly felt he was too good to be playing in the match. He acted like the result didn't matter, and he couldn't give a shit. He has got WAY above his station. I think he acted like a disgrace last night, much worse than I've ever seen from Forster.
Personally I have a bit more pride in our club, than to see that dickhead in a blue n white shirt anytime soon. Besides, who needs an ugly, oaf like version of Leon Knight in the team....

I read it completely differently. I saw a player passionately committed to the game, giving as good as he got under some fierce tackling, getting right back up on his feet, and playing with a smile on his face. He shrugged off the penalty save as the lottery that it was. I'd absolutely LOVE it if he came to the Albion.

So you quite like the idea of players 'laughing off' a penalty shootout defeat, when a trip to Wembley is at stake? ???

I have a feeling that if it had been one of our players who acted in the same way last night, you wouldn't be saying quite the same thing.

OK, so the penalty save reaction WAS a tad unexpected. But Shrewsbury got bigger fish to fry. They're going for PROMOTION, and Holt knows it. He was maybe just treating the pisspot with the contempt it deserves, as a Micket Mouse distraction. Unlike ourselves, who are clinging pathetically to that loser competition to salvage something from an otherwise pitiful season.

Only problem is without Mickey Mouse Distraction Cup goals, he's got a somewhat less impressive 10 so far. And five of them were penalties. Grant Holt is not actually that good a player.

Holt looked average to me, lacks mobility. The fact he has scored 18 golas cannot be denied, however how many of those were in cup competitions against weakened teams? (Possibly 6 - 8). Bottom line is, he is playing a lower league, when he came up against defenders from a grade higher (last evening), in my opinion he looked poor. Probably thinks he is 'bigger than Shrewsbury'. Should we sign him.... absolutely not...
