Anyone else looking forward to this on ITV over the next week??

The Grand Slam of Darts pits the superstars of the two codes of darts together in a collosal encounter and something must give.

The force of the BDO goes head to head against the might of the PDC in the bearpit that is the Wolverhampton Civic Hall as these tungsten gladiators give their all for themselves and there code, but there can only be one ultimate winner.....

:clap2:

Will be embarrassing for BDO. They are terrible compared with PDC. Pointless competition.

Yeh really looking forward to it as it's on ITV4...

I know a couple of the Sussex boys on the PDC tour and unfortunately neither qualified for it :(

Last year the quarter finals consisted of four BDO and four PDC.

There is some high quality in the BDO, write it off at your peril.

I could've entered but 's in Scotland...

I'm playing in a Weds individual league in Hastings and stll have to play Andy Relf, Adrian Gray and Shayne Burgess yet so may decided how good i am after that :dunce: It's a point a leg and each match is 5 leags so i'll be happy with 2 legs out the 15 from those 3 :)

Yep, totally looking forward to it. Will be interesting to see whether anyone can make a charge for a Premier League place; with Klaasen not in it Gary Anderson could do his chances a power of good.

Re the BDO - Ted Hankey has a great draw and if his head's right should win his group with Whitlock, Mardle and Waites.

'The Dreamboy' has done well the last two occasions at the Grand Slam. I think he can go along way, the group format should dicate that the best players make it to the knockout phase, and so long as you don't draw Taylor you've got a chance against anyone!

When he needed to beat his good mate fitton 5-3 and suprise suprise beat him 5-3 (fitton had already qualified)...imo he'll struggle as a pdc member

The Adonis sold a load of his stuff on eBay a couple of years ago, I've got all sorts of his stuff - darts, international pennants, a personalised wooden darts box - and it's great to see him back to his best.

Fantastic tournament so far, except for a dreadful rowdy audience, Ted Hankey king of the BDO was getting dogs abuse.

I had a small wager on Hankey to beat Mardle and most of the crowd were being complete nobs all throughout the match trying to put him off.It affected both players.Hankey's finishing was awful but Mardle had no consistency with his 3 darts.

At the end i thought Hankey was very restrained towards the crowd.I would have done a Mike Bassett(the bit where he listened to the criticism of his tactics before getting on the coach)-told them to f*** off and legged it as fast as i could! :lolol: But he's got a few more matches to play in this tournament still in front of that crowd.
