Just seen on SSN that Richard Wright signed for them last week on a one year contract and it has now been terminated by mutual consent because he is "homesick" - I don't know if there are any extenuating circumstances but on the face of it makes him sound like a right wimp.

I think thats a bit unfair. Suffolk to Preston is quite a distance and he was missing his family. I know when I lived in Stoke for 6 months away from my family I struggled.

There have been a lot of strange stories coming out of Preston since he went there, he is going to have to start well or I think he will come under pressure pretty quickly.

How long until the administrators move in? I'm not saying he's responsible for situations that arose during his time with Leeds, Cardiff and Plymouth (Barnsley as well I think?) but there's a very funny smell about it all.

Why on earth did he leave Stevenage? He achieved back-to-back promotions with the club and after he left, reaching the play-offs showed that it wasn't a case of taking them as far as he could.

On borrowed time at Preston now surely. The first manager of the 92 clubs in the football league to be sacked this season? Might be worth a bet.

Magnificent interview. He came across really well there I thought, knew he came across as an idiot and didn't try and hide it. Fair play to him, he talks an awful lot of sense and while I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club in a professional capacity, he would be fantastic on Sky Sports as a pundit.
