All in all I see this as a very bold and brave move, I am personally in camp Potter.
I like the style and way we play football so much more than under the previous hero manager, and it is clear for all to see we are creating chances and either need our current strike force to drastically improve or we need to upgrade that strike force.
This kind of backing if true is a clear indication that plans are possibly afoot to rectify the putting the ball in the onion bag problem. My personal thought was the powers that be are hoping Percy joins us and Andone is a star re-born sometime in January.
However there maybe another player on the horizon none of us are aware of yet to land in the seagulls nest. Once we have a decent strike force, I think we can all agree things will improve and results will follow.

Only a fool would want Potter out now, I doubt very much Klopp could rectify someone putting the ball over the bar from 6 yards out.

If the worst did happen and we slipped into the championship after a terrible run of results then things would obviously change.
This is my problem with the statement or am I missing something.

On the flip side the board clearly think this won't happen and I hope they are right, and actually boosts me with confidence that our striking issue is all in hand and we have a cunning plan....

We couldn’t beat the worst team in the league at home who just happened to play half the game with ten men.

Since being appointed we now have the worst home form in the league (Not great is it).

Possession stats at the end of the day mean well nothing really, we went through this with Poyet his last season that team should of been promoted by Easter instead we played out to many draws with well basically exactly the same style as Potter slow build up possession based bullshit. The simple fact is, based on chances created and ExG, if we had a striker as prolific as the previous manager had in Glenn Murray, we would be in the top half. That’s despite our keeper being in horrendous form.

And that's the crux of it Gullsworth old boy (or girl) its my opinion, I've been lucky enough to have met Tyson Fury, have read his book and having experienced serious anxiety and depression issues myself am in awe of what he has done since coming back from the brink of suicide.

I’m slowly, gradually calming down since the DEBACLE of Sunday - one of the most disappointing results for YEARS imo.

I get that the club is building for the future, of course. It’s doing things the ‘right away’.

But, by God, it’s a bad time for our football club to demand patience and faith when so much else in our lives is on hold.

With travel, gigs and gatherings with family and friends all off the table, following the Albion is one of precious few pleasures remaining - or should be.

From the Groundhog Day, not-quite-there performances and dour post-match interviews, to shitty VAR and fan-free stadiums, to the (imo) ill-considered ticket lotteries*, there is literally NO JOY in following the Albion right now.

I have actually, while upset we could not seal the deal in the end, I initially voted on the fence hanging by a rusty nail in a poll, I have calmed down somewhat and thought about it more, it would be a rash decision and the figures speak for themselves, we are creating chances, I would be very very worried if that was not the case.

Its not ridiculous, its spur of the moment anger/dissapointment/frustration and passion being vented. Because we care about our club. Most of us half calmed down and bantered out the frustrations, and as we edge closer to the next game are merely jibbering wrecks.

Imagine if we were Italian. their forums must have some extremely robust triple back up servers and IP69K protective Sheets!

I guess, I had not thought of it that way, your right we are probably sticking all our hope and joy on a team that is also struggling with the same issues of health and family during this epidemic. I guess I am being unreasonable to pin all my hope on the squad to cheer me up, and demolish ten men behind a ball....

God I miss going to the football, gigs, the pub, family and friends spread far and wide.

I agree BUT.. we are still creating plenty of chances and that's the dilemma. New manager, new ways and rebuilding to their way of playing. Managers need time.

Goals change games- they change the way a team plays. They also change the way a team will play in future matches.
Yes, we have wasted good chances this season, but all that says is that we would have scored more goals with a 'better' striker. It can't be used to prove anything else.

Not only would we sell all our big players for wads of cash, but we have so many amazing prospects coming through to replace them. Add to that Maupay is a fantastic championship striker who could bang in goals for us.

Of course, we would have to go down first. But to struggle, I'm not so sure.

We're not included in that gang so we're psychologically frail . . . given that's a GP strength either he's failing or we have very fragile players.

the ability to physically play good football is not the issue, the big bucks buys speed of thought and cranial capacity to think differently and more creatively mid game. with that comes the ability to relax whilst doing it because yuou have the confidence in yyour ability.

If's but's and maybe's I agree! BUT we create the chances and what happen's between the chance created and it being missed/saved is down to a few players and not Potter. We need a Vardy or an Ings
