Today we were expecting a defeat. Well i was some on here thought otherwise

It was the manner of the defeat that pisses me off. Terrible defending and once again we don't look like scoring. I see no improvement at either end of the pitch. If anything it getting worse.

I have no faith in Potter to turn it around i'm afraid. This slump is horrendous. I said i liked the look of today's team which i did. Injuries didn't help though. Look at the bench though. It's bad. Really bad for this level. When i saw it i thought somebody mixed it up with the U23 game with Spurs the other night.
How can this be after all the millions we spent ? I give up.

I know it’s a weekend, but surely there is somewhere you can top up your meds!

Let's have a bit of perspective here. Today was disappointing - probably our worst performance of the\Potter era - and obviously point-less. Six points from seven games isn't a good return either - but .......................

........it's all about very fine margins. I know 'what ifs' don't count for anything, but leaving out the Southampton game where we might well have got something but for Andone's attempt at GBH, take the three draws we had. West Ham - goal disallowed for offside by VAR. Yes, it was marginally offside, so the VAR decision was correct - but the goal wouldn't have been disallowed were it not for VAR.
Burnley - we were winning, until in one last desperate attempt to retrieve something, a Burnley player lashed the ball from distance, hopefully putting his foot through it - and yes, as luck would have it, it fairly flew in. At Newcastle young newcomer Connolly chips the ball over the GK as neatly as Aguero or Messi, only for a desperate Newcastle defender to pull off a fantastic goal-line clearance.
Now I'm not saying all of those should have gone our way, but if even one of them had broken our way we'd be two points and a couple of places higher, with much less bleating about being doomed - if two of them had broken for us rather than against us we'd be knocking on the door of the top ten! So - panic stations or not? Absolutely not IMHO. Another day one of those breaks will fall for us.

The defending under him has been nothing but shambolic. He is the new Hyypia. Get this clown out now. The warning signs were there weeks ago. You made a massive mistake Bloom appointing him so hold your hands up and admit you got it wrong. Sack him.

Terrible defending and no goals. Every match we all over over the place at the back it's fecking disgraceful.

I think Potter has been handed the same quality issues that Hughton had to live with the past two years.

Exactly, Hughton worked miracles keeping us in the league last season, and yes the last few months were appalling, and yes, we had been worked out.

However, there was no plan B because the options were non-existent...... IMO

Potter is actually doing okay, and the football is more attractive on the eye, but when it comes to the last third the same issues exist. The fact we create more and still can’t score highlights the challenge even more.

Surely give Connolly a go with Murray.

Really, today, Ryan, Dunk, Stephens were the only regular starters from last season. Squad looks pretty different to me, just not any better.

This. We do not actually know people that well or the reason they post so to say " top up the meds " is very poor imo. I think Spence has his opinion and should be respected for it, even if people disagree and start a lynching campaign. NSC bullying at it's finest. I remember that fella who last October said Hughton should go and was buried, never to support the club and subjected to appalling abuse on social media. As it turned out he had a valid point

I agree with you. This match last year we lost 3-0 and yes it also could have been a lot more then too. In that game we had 3 shots, 1 on target and they had their usual 70% possession. Nobody got booked even on either side, it was dire to watch.

This year we had 47% possession. We had 8 shots and only one on target and our usual failure to score. I felt like the best chances we had were a lot closer than last year and it was a lot better to watch this game.

letting 1 of Locadia or Andone go was the right thing to do. The 1st to go was the right choice too. Letting Andone go i think was a massive mistake. And am still not sure weather anyone can do better with this group of players than Hughton had done. But in all honesty it is much more interesting and i go into each match now thinking we have a chance. Newcastle away was my 1st match this season and to be fair i was very impressed despite still not scoring. Top strikers in this league cost stupid money though Joelinton at Newcastle £40m!! And he looked shite. So letting Andone go i cannot work out. Also Knockaert should still be with us imo.
