Dunno about that. Quite a few who seem to think passing it around the back is a reasonable substitute to scoring goals. Quite a few who didn’t recognise that letting those games slip through our fingers was very bad. Maybe fewer in number now .

Or, at least, quieter at the moment.

I thought they hung in well defensively and stayed in the game .

I do agree though that the players aren't good enough to play the percentages like that. The concentration isn't there. Some players are occasionally switching off.

When the longer ball got played it caused Chelsea more problems. Should have used that outlet a bit more as it bore more fruit than trying to play through such an energetic Chelsea midfield

We rod our luck massively at various stages of the game. Another day that could have been a 6-0. Don't kid yourself.

I don’t think the squad are good enough to play the style of football that Potter has implemented. The quality of our creative options are pretty average too. Defensively fragile and toothless in attack do not a successful season make.

Trust me it will happen. The Brighton fans will only take so much before venting their anger. Spurs is the one mark my words.

Losing to Spurs won't tell us much. If we fail to pick up any points against Villa (away), Everton (home) and Norwich (home) panic may set in.

Wait until Spurs roll us over.

This will be the game that will see our fans finally turn in there hordes and say Spence was right all those weeks ago.

Trust me it will happen.

Spurs at home WILL BE THE ONE when the boos will fill the Amex.

No one will ever say you were right. Ever.

Don’t think making claims like that, works very well. Evidence of people lauding us as great please, others might as well making additional claims...

Like we missed out Griessman because of wages..

spence, perhaps you could enlighten us as to who you would actually like to see in charge?

I ask because, aside from the painfully tedious fishing trip that is this thread, you have been consistently negative about every single Albion manager for as long as I can ever remember and nothing and no-one ever seems to satisfy you.

Fat Sam to the rescue

None of our fans think we should be competing for the top 6.

if we're seriously competing with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, drawing there or beating them, then we would be competing for the top 6.

There are several here who are clearly disappointed we didn't get a result with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Ergo, there are several of our fans who think we should be competing for the top 6

I agree. I don't want Potter getting sacked but I do believe it's a ridiculous argument to expect fans to have a shortlist of managers as a replacement.

How many fans were touting Potter to be our manager when CH was still in charge?

Why is it a ridiculous argument? Is it more ridiculous than crying Potter out?

Managerial stats are public knowledge and given how Spence likes to think of himself as some kind of football genius; expecting him to have a replacement is a very responsible request.

Didn't Sheffield United get a result at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago, though? And we're competing with them, surely.

I imagine people are disappointed we didn't play better than we did. It's also ok to hope we manage to get a point, against the run of play. Hoping to get a point away to a below par Chelsea, is still a long way off thinking we should be competing for a top 6 place.

A 2-0 defeat at Chelsea was probably the most expected result if you looked at the bookies odds. The big blows this season were the injury time equaliser at home to Burnley when we deserved to win, Andone's crazy tackle which changed the game against Soton, and the good performance at Newcastle which also deserved 3 points.

That's the reason the league table doesn't look quite as good as it should at the moment.

Very true, we were well and truly beaten but I think we are a few injury hit players to return to make us a more competitive team. We were still goal shy but we had 500 passes, improvement is needed yes but we are heading in the right direction. (and that's coming from a Hughton licker)

After the last game, someone wrote on the “potter revolution thread”, that they “couldn’t be happier “ with how it was going . That’s the kind of bullsh*t I’m talking about .
Anyway , it’s by the by. I’m a fan , I’m not willing this to happen . I just don’t think this experiment will work , as the standard of this division is too high to allow it to succeed.
We will need a more pragmatic manager and style to keep us up.
would absolutely love it if I was proved wrong, as the idea of us playing sexy, winning football is great

That I agree with, especially if we create many chances and don't take them as we haven't been lately.
Getting Trossard and others back fit for those games would help as well.
