Hi don't have a twitter account but if you do, you could mention to the fellas that Spurs don't have the money to sack Mourinho, and don't have the money to buy our manager out of his contract.

Jealousy from other clubs supporters is an unconditionally positive thing

Forgetting about the ESL noise, any other Albion fans here today who feel very comfortable with our league position today and confident in our future in general?

Subject to the Fat Lady not having sung yet, it's 21st April and I feel good about the club, we won't have a nail biting end to the season, we can breathe.

Potter's performing well for us on a bottom 6 budget imho, I'm excited about the playing side project (The Board, DA and GP).

The stadium's soon to be completed at 32,500. We'll be there next season to watch this exciting team.

A couple of quality signings this summer and I believe we'll progress further.

Good times to be an Albion fan.

I just started a thread saying the same thing, but far less eloquently :).

Yep, good times ahead I believe.

Granted not Chelsea levels.. but Leicester have been pretty trigger happy and not known for patience with a manager. They even sacked the manager who won them the title.

Would be a risky move for GP I think.

Spurs and Rodgers won't be joining up this time around according to media reports.

I think GP will be with us next season:smile:

Great post, I echo all of that.

GP is part way through an exciting project and has an owner, board, players, fans and the media backing him. He’s an honourable guy, intelligent and is living in the best place in the world. The summer is coming! Why would he want to leave?

Currently I'm more worried about Paul Barber going to Man U.

I think the current rumours of GP going to Spurs are unlikely. More stability with us and only a striker away from a mid table finish.

For me he's had a C- season (Albion career) so far.

That really should be a B+, a further B+ next season and we'd be well on the way.

As it is there's still a lot of room for improvement, I have every faith in GPott being the man, but I do hope we get off to a strong start next season.

I’d give a straight B.

A bottom 6 budget, yet we look to be staying up with a bit of comfort.

Most games we play an attractive style, he successfully bloodied young players, and he’s patently adapted for the better .... no longer suicide passing round the back, effective long passes from Sanchez, being more direct at times.

You haven't got very far to go with your grades.
The squad still has a fair distance to travel.

The team that Tony Bloom has assembled is first class and I believe they enjoy working with him. I notice GP sticks strictly to answering questions about team management matters and always declines to comment on matters beyond his brief and that again is a sign of smooth team operation....

It’s been another emotional rollercoaster of an EPL season following the Albion.

I’m a grumpy NSC git on the day of setbacks such as Blades away, but euphoric after our great performances yielding a win.

So, taking stock, on a bottom 6 budget I think Graham Potter has done more than a decent job so far.

Assessing this season in particular, comparing to where we were last summer, imho the tangible improvements have been:

1. We now have a far better keeper, Sanchez is assured at everything.
2. Lamptey and Veltman are a significant step up on Montoya and Schelotto.
3. White and Webster have really come on. Other posters have made a great point that Webster thrived without the boo-boys in the stands.
4. Bissouma has evolved from a dynamic work in progress, to a CM boss.
5. We had little pace before, I’d say when looking at the overall squad, we’ve vastly improved in that facet.
6. Lallana and Welbeck (I realise he’s just a loanee ... for now) have added proven top flight class to the first 11.
7. Dunk’s now even better.
8. Trossard destressed, he’s played well in many games.
9. Gross, I had thought that he was on his way out with Stephens and Propper, but in many recent games he’s been the teutonic renaissance man.
10. March was in the form of his life.
11. Moder looks an EPL player.
12. We used to be defensively vulnerable as we threw bodies forward, I’d say far less so this season.

Shirley Porter gets credit for all of this.

Welbeck signed a one year contract when he joined. His contract with Watford was terminated by mutual consent, I think.

Porter IN.

It’s hard to argue with any of that.

I’m very optimistic for next season, playing Sanchez from game one, imagine having Solly and Lamptey back now. Plus a new forward or 2.

Also very happy with the strength of our squad. If we do lose Biss or Ben White, we have Moises / Moder and Ostigard / Clarke / Dedonker to step up. Not to mention the real talent coming through.
