"It is understood the length of Potter’s contract with the Seagulls was one of the matters under discussion yesterday."

You know when the negotiations on contract length happen and sometimes they take a while, I always wonder how stuff like this actually goes down?

I imagine it works something like this:

Paul Barber: "We are thinking a four year contract"
Potter: "I was thinking five years"
Paul Barber: "Four years"
Potter: "Five years"
Paul Barber: "No, four years"
Potter: "Come ooooon, Five years"
Paul Barber: "Four"
Potter: "Come ooooooooon"
Paul Barber: "Okay Five"
Potter: "Yay!"

I could be wrong.

Paul Barber "Okay Five... as it'll take me 4 years to write it, anyway".

This could take a while couldn't it.

In all seriousness depends what you mean......football appointments are really very, very rapid to be honest. It would take several weeks - usually months - to tie up an appointment at this level in my place. The fact that these things typically get done within a few days is quite surprising. Fact is he'll probably have signed within a 2-3 of days of (officially) opening a conversation with us.

It took me and Mrs MBH ****ing ages to decide what coffee machine to get. Wouldn't be without it now though.
