Every time I think about the Ben White story, I think haven't we played a blinder? We loan him out in the championship for a season, turn down 25 million ish for him from Leeds, get the benefit of his services for a season, Leeds' shenanigans help put him on the radar, he acquits himself very well and gets selected for England, and now we look set to pocket 50 million for him. Brighton have played Leeds like a fiddle. I don't think they realise it even now.

:lolol:

Depends their fans are a bit muggy granted, BW helped them get promoted into the PL where they appear to be doing a better job than we have ever managed.

I agree.

And yet....I can see them going down next season, with Wolves and Palace. ???

It’s almost as if our owner and chairman is a self-made billionaire and a former professional poker player.

A Leeds fan said pretty much the same thing on Twitter - 'Brighton have played a blinder', or something like that. He was told by a fellow Leeds fan to move down south and get TB's cock in hs mouth. Yes, you're right, some of them are too thick to realise it!

I imagine the queue in Leeds to do the same with Bielsa runs to years :lolol:

Arsenal are desperate and are willing to pay obscene prices. White is good, might become very good, but I think he should have waited for a Champions League team that play out from the back and counter attack. Arsenal concede goals and I am not sure if White will stop them conceding as there are lots of problems in terms of how Arsenal defend.

Utter guff - They had 12 clean sheets last season (same as BHA and Liverpool) and won 12 of the last 23 games in 2021.

Indeed, l'd much rather be where they are in the table. People knock Bielsa but he is obviously doing something right, and has totally transformed Leeds and the way that they play.

But look at our imaginary points from last season - that's where the real gold is.

Our imaginary double over palace was a particular highlight.

The 10 dropped points v Palace and West Brom are the low hanging fruit.

For a team that have a lot of problems in how they defend and that concedes goals (whatever that means anyway as all teams concede goals) Arsenal had the 3rd best defensive record last season, only Man City and Chelsea let in less. Their problems last season weren’t defensive.

Wolves and Sheff Utd had a blinding first season too. Let's see how they do this time.

Yup. Staying up for 5 seasons with a bottom 6 budget is a lot more difficult than coming top 10 once.

I seriously doubt many Sheffield fans are celebrating that 9th place two years ago and would probably much rather had consecutive 15-17th positions.

Imaginary points are very underrated. They what make a successful season. Once we've gained imaginary points, no team can ever take them away from us. They're ours to keep, savour, brag about, and look forward to turning into actual points next season. Or the one after.

You make a very good point.
When real points and league position don't fit your agenda all you need to do is generate imaginary points and the reality just fades away.

I'm probably digressing, but when Elon Musk was asked in an interview, what is the greatest obstacle you face, he answered with something like 'people who tell me what they think I want to hear', i.e. not the truth.

A little honesty goes a long way.

I wouldn't be picking the 'low hanging fruit' all the time those who are only picking imaginary fruit refuse to acknowledge the actual fruit on the actual tree.

But that ship has well and truly sailed.
