Hes the worst keeper Ive seen in a brighton shirt, he doesnt even look like a professional and hes whole demeanour is careless and the defence know it!

I was at Norwich City last night and that was undoubtedly the worst game by an albion keeper iv'e ever seen. He was at fault for the first and the forth goal, And the one that got dissalowed. Its no coincidence that when wenever we have conceaded more than 3 in a game this season, he has been in goal. Kuipers has only conceade let in 3 in one game twice (And one of those was against a championship side). Another thing I have noticed about Smith is that he isnt very vocal towards the defence like kupers is.

Didn't McGhee recommend Smith? - is it a case of McGhee trying to get revenge???

Smith was very poor in his all round play yesterday - After the match, as I was returning to the car I could hear Norwich fans laughing at how poor he was, commenting that especially in the 1st half, he looked like a lost little boy watching the ball go past him, and that he looked out of his depth, - and unfortunately I have to agree with their remarks

Poor kicking, poor command of his area, failing to cut out crosses, lack of communication with his defenders, (Elphick shielding the ball back but Smith was rooted on the 6 yard line meaning Elphick had to conceed a throw in near our penalty area), a poor punch away the only time he tried it, other times he didn't come and he should have been there to claim the cross. He may not have been able to stop some of the goals he conceeded, but he hasn't done anything before that to reduce or clear the danger beforehand. He just doesn't look comfortable. (I still wonder whether he could have cut out the long ball for Leeds second goal, I expect Kuipers would have got there 1st, or at least not given their striker any room to shoot but it might be being a bit picky and wouldn't have made much difference as Leeds were far too good) - I feel sorry for him given the amount of goals he has conceeded but he isn't up to the job at the moment (if he ever will be)

For a totally meaningless but nevertheless interesting comparison, in 1984-85 one Graham Moseley conceded 34 goals in being ever-present in a 42 game season.

To extend Smith's form over a 46 match season would mean 158 goals.
